Matthew 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing.
The Lord’s heart longs to gather His people together. His heart is full of compassion and tender mercies; as that of a mother that longs to gather and protect her children. He longs to gather ALL of His children under His wing.
The Lord longs for His children to come and put their trust in Him, to take refuge under His wings! TRUST HIM!
Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! -Isa 49:15

*the Lord’s attachment to Zion{His people} is like a mother’s attachment to her infant child, but even stronger.
