Greater is He

July 23, 2010

He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. -1 Jn 4:4

He is my shield of victory{salvation}

7 My victory and honor come from God alone.
He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
8 O my people, trust in Him at all times.
Pour out your heart to Him,
for God is our refuge. -Ps 62:7-8 NLT

His right hand sustains and upholds me
He stoops down to make me great
His willingness to help enables me to prevail.
……………………………… -Ps 18:35; 2Sam 22:36

20 Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart rejoices in Him, because we trust in His holy name.
22 Let Your mercy{lovingkindness}, O LORD, be upon us, just as we hope in You. -Ps 33:20-22

Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. -1 Cor 15:57

The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart exults, And with my song I shall thank Him. -Ps 28:7

Peace Like A River

July 11, 2010

From: Peace, Like a River, Flows…

Rivers seem peaceful to people because they know for sure they’re going to get where they are going
—> and they don’t want to go anywhere else. —Howell Bale

The Lord used the above to really encouraged me!

It’s as if He said to me ‘Trust Me’
Be still and let My peace flow like a river.
I know where you are going
I have prepared it
I am faithful to finish what I have begun
Let My peace carry you.

Trust Me – rest
I have prepared your way.

Isaiah 48:17-18 This is what the LORD says—your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. 18If only you had paid attention to My commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Romans 16:19-20 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. 20The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

The above made me think of the dove.

Matthew 10:16 … Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.

10:16 As sheep in the midst of wolves. Defenseless by human means, among the fierce and cruel; among bitter enemies.

Wise as serpents. Prudent, discreet. Serpents are very cautious in avoiding danger.

Harmless as doves. Guileless and innocent as doves. The dove, peaceful, never preying on other birds, has always been a symbol of innocence.

1 Corinthians 14:20 … Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults{mature understanding}.

The peaceful dove, carrying an olive leaf …

Genesis 8:8-12 … Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. 9But the dove could find no place to set its feet because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. 10He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. 11When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah[05146] knew that the water had receded from the earth. 12Then he waited yet another seven days, and sent out the dove; but she did not return to him again.

Noah[05146] means ‘rest’. From [05118] which means resting place.

The Lord’s dove always finds rest in Him
In the ark of His presence, carried upon the river of His peace
… until the waters recede
… and everything is made new! -Rev 21:1-5

Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest!
Psalm 55:6

Grace and peace to you from God our Father
And the Lord Jesus Christ!

Yesterday at church this song really spoke to me!

I Hear the Words of Love
Lyrics by Horatius Bonar, 1861

I hear the words of love, I gaze upon the blood,
I see the mighty sacrifice and I have peace with God.

‘Tis everlasting peace! Sure as Jehovah’s Name;
‘Tis stable as His steadfast throne, for evermore the same.

The clouds may come and go, and storms may sweep my sky,
This blood sealed friendship changes not: The cross is ever nigh.

My love is oft times low, my joy still ebbs and flows;
But peace with Him remains the same, no change Jehovah knows.

I change, He changes not, The Christ can never die;
His love, not mine, the resting place, His truth, not mine, the tie.

The Beloved Dwell Between His Shoulders

July 8, 2010

I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.
Jeremiah 31:25

This picture of the ‘hammock’ from my previous post and the promise of refreshment and rest in the Lord were still on my heart today. Look what I found out about the hammock! It’s related to this scripture.

Deuteronomy 33:12 Of Benjamin{“son of the right hand”} he said: “The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety{rest secure} by Him, Who shelters{covers} him all the day long; And he shall dwell between His shoulders.”

Strange Scriptures That Perplex the Western Mind
By Barbara M. Bowen

This scripture refers to the Bible Land’s hammock or cradle, … It is a hammock … carried on the mother’s shoulders, with cords passing across her forehead. … How often we have seen a small hammock on the shoulders of a young mother, with a tiny face peeking out, or more often with a sleeping baby and a little foot or a small hand showing at the side of the hammock. When the mother carries the child, she will draw a part of her large white veil over the hammock as a protection against the hot sun, either partly or completely covering it. This is the common picture referred to in Deut. 33:12.

The ‘hammock’, the rest of the LORD
… is between His shoulders!
… the place of the cross.

He[the LORD] found him in a desert land And in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye. Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, That hovers over its young, He spread His wings and caught them, He carried them on His pinions … -Deut 32:10-11

You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself. -Ex 19:4

This is where the beloved – “son of the right hand”,
… is carried and covered!
Between the LORD’s shoulders
… lifted up, carried
… as an eagle bears her young upon her wings!

Deuteronomy 33:12

—> beloved of the Lord – So called in allusion to their father Benjamin who was the beloved of his father Jacob
—>The Lord shall dwell, that is, his temple shall be placed, between his shoulders, that is, in his portion, or between his border’s as the word shoulder is often used. And this was truly the situation of the temple, on both sides whereof was Benjamin’s portion. And though mount Sion was in the tribe of Judah, yet mount Moriah, on which the temple was built, was in the tribe of Benjamin.

Refresh Your Soul
Carried Between His Shoulders

July 4, 2010

I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.
Jeremiah 31:25

Call out to the Lord with this promise when you are weary and overwhelmed. Not only does He “not faint” but He gives power to them who do faint.

Lord Jesus, I know you refresh the weary and satisfy the faint. I know my soul finds rest in You alone.

Refresh and satisfy my soul as only You can.

Isaiah 40:28-31 AMP Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding.

29He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound].

30Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted;

31But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

Psalm 62:1 My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him.

Gayle Getz:
Gonna try this a second time here,,,had a reply written out ready to post & “poof” off it went somewhere?  lol-it is retrievable through Holy Spirit. I was out in my front yard 2 days ago with my lil dog, Boo. I heard an eagle whistling & looked up, sure enough, there was what has been come to be known as the ‘neighborhood eagle’ soaring, only it is not alone, there are two eagles soaring.   This intrigued me. Standing there looking up, watching as they soared higher & higher I got such a grand sense of HIS Presence. I did not hear a car pull up, but all the sudden this car is sitting there on the street in front of me and this gal yells, “have you seen two big dogs roaming the neighborhood.” I mentioned I was too busy watching the eagles. She proceeds to tell me these two dogs attempted to jump her fence to get at her two lil dogs. I look down the road behind her car & here come these two big dogs barking, growling snarling. She begins to yell at them to ‘get out of here’. I scoop up my lil Boo & throw him in the front door. I turn around and discerned the fear coming out of this woman’s heart. As quickly as the dogs were coming up the street they turned and were headed down the street-like something herded the two of them to turn direction.  I know my angels were on the job here, “HE GIVES HIS ANGELS CHARGE OVER ME TO WATCH ME, TO PROTECT ME, & KEEP ME IN ALL OF MY WAYS.” HALLELUJAH!!! Is. 40 was played out for me there, assuring confirming to me that the Word of God is the LIVING WORD OF GOD. IT IS ALIVE WITH EVERYTHING WE NEED.  Thanks for posting this precious Sister Karen-will be praying & holding you up along with ALL our Brothers & Sisters here at OH. Love you ALL-shouting unto God with a voice of triumph; shouting unto God with a voice of praise. HIS Kingdom is growing in our hearts & HIS will is manfesting in the earth! Amen.  GLORY TO GOD!!! \o/\o/\o/

Isaiah 61:6-7 – Double Portion
You will be called the priests of the LORD;
You will be spoken of as ministers of our God.
You will eat the wealth of nations,
And in their glory{honour} you will boast.
Instead of your shame you shall have double honor,
And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.
Therefore in their land they shall possess double;
Everlasting joy shall be theirs.

Walking in Agreement

July 2, 2010

Job 36:21-26 AMP Take heed, turn not to iniquity, for this [the iniquity of complaining against God] you have chosen rather than [submission in] affliction. 22Behold, God exalts and does loftily in His power; who is a ruler or a teacher like Him? 23Who has appointed{enjoined[06485]} God His way? Or who can say, You have done unrighteousness? 24Remember that [by submission] you magnify God’s work, of which men have sung. 25All men have looked upon God’s work; man may behold it afar off. 26Behold, God is great, and we know Him not! The number of His years is unsearchable.

Amos 3:2-4 “You only have I known of all the families of the earth; Therefore I will punish[06485] you for all your iniquities.” 3Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? 4Will a lion roar in the forest, when he has no prey? Will a young lion cry out of his den, if he has caught nothing?

From Netbible Job 36:23, Amos 3:2
assign [06485] paqad
1) to attend to, muster, number, reckon, visit, punish, appoint, look
after, care for

1 John 1:5-9 NIV
Walking in the light

5This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
8If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Take heed turn not to iniquity
Remember that [by submission] you magnify God’s work
If you refuse to submit to the work of His hand
… He will walk with you only to “punish you”; as a “lion” walks with his “prey”.

For those whom the LORD loves He disciplines[3811], and scourges every son whom He receives. -Heb 12:6

From Netbible Heb 12:6
discipline [3811] paideuo
1) to train children, to be instructed or taught or learn, to cause one to learn
2) to chasten by the affliction of evils and calamities, to chastise with blows, to scourge, of a father punishing his son, of a judge ordering one to be scourged after, care for

Psalm 138:8 AMP The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, endure forever–forsake not the works of Your own hands

Psalm 57:2 AMP I will cry to God Most High, Who performs on my behalf and rewards me [Who brings to pass His purposes for me and surely completes them]!

Philippians 1:6 AMP And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.

Behold, LORD, You desire truth in the inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart. Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. … Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me. … O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. –Ps 51

A Balm in Gilead

July 1, 2010

Jeremiah 8:18-22 O my Comforter in sorrow, my heart is faint within me. 19Listen to the cry of my people from a land far away: “Is the LORD not in Zion? Is her King no longer there?” “Why have they provoked me to anger with their images, with their worthless foreign idols?” 20″The harvest is past, the summer has ended, and we are not saved.” 21Since my people are crushed, I am crushed; I mourn, and horror grips me. 22Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?

Have you ever felt a sorrow or grief so great
… that it felt as if your broken heart would never mend?

The one who created that heart has the power to heal it and make it new.

Jesus Christ the balm of Gilead
A precious oil; A soothing balm
The oil of joy
… To console those who mourn in Zion –Isa 61:1-3

Let Jesus Christ the balm of Gilead
… turn your mourning to dancing. –Ps 30:5,11; Jere 31:10-14

In His presence
Fullness of joy
Taste and see. –Ps 16:8-11;Ps 34:8

There is a Balm in Gilead

There is a balm in Gilead,
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead,
To heal the sin sick soul.

Some times I feel discouraged,
And think my work’s in vain,
But then the Holy Spirit,
Revives my soul again.”

Refrain: “If you can’t preach like Peter,
If you can’t pray like Paul,
Just tell the love of Jesus,
And say He died for all.”
