Gifts of Grace

Romans 12:6-8 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. 7If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

1 Corinthians 12:31 But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And I show you a still more excellent way.

1 Peter 4:10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.

It’s interesting that the word for gifts here is charisma.

From Netbible Rom 12:6; 1 Cor 12:31; 1 Peter 4:10

charisma gifts[5486]
1) a favor with which one receives without any merit of his own {due to the power of divine grace operating by the Holy Spirit}
2) the gift of divine grace

The gifts, received without any merit of one’s own, a sign of divine grace operating by the power of the Holy Spirit thru Jesus Christ – given to faithfully serve others.

Ephesians 4:7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.

From Netbible Ephesians 4:7
charis grace[5485]
2a) of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtue

Gifts not to boast or rejoice about, not to be claimed as one’s own, but to serve faithfully, to grow up in all things into Him who is the head––Christ{ Eph 4:15} …

Luke 10:17-20 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”

And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

1 Corinthians 1:31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”
Psalm 34:2-3 My soul will make its boast in the LORD; The humble will hear it and rejoice. O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.
