Keep Walking! Don’t Give Up!

October 26, 2010

Matthew 14:25-32
Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.
27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous,[a] he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus!
Don’t give up,
Keep in step, keep walking forward

Listen for His voice
Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me? -Jer 32:27

Listen for His voice
He makes a way where there is no way.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. -Mt 19:26

Nothing is Impossible
Words and Music by Eugene L. Clark

Nothing is impossible when you put your trust in God;
Nothing is impossible when you’re trusting in His Word.
Hearken to the voice of God to thee;
“Is there anything too hard for Me?”
Then put your trust in God alone and rest upon His Word;
For ev’rything, O, ev’rything, yes ev’rything is possible with God.

Galatians 5:25 AMP
If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.]

From Lyn McSweeney:

Don’t give up now

You are nearly there

You need to take the last step

To climb the last stair

You’ve been tested and tried

You’ve been through the fire

You’ve been in the wilderness

Where God did inspire

You’ve been broken and battered

But you’ve stood tall and strong

You’ve had a struggle

But you knew all along

That Jesus was standing

Right by your side

He has watched as you blossomed

His beautiful bride

He saw the tears

When the trials were rough

But Father knew

When you’d had just enough

Don’t give up now

You are nearly there

You need to take the last step

And climb the last stair

I was just looking at this word — blossomed,
the unfolding of a pure white lily
the release of a sweet fragrance
an incense
a scent strong enough to fill the whole earth
released
unfolding
white wings spread — anticipating flight, release.

Yesterday I read the following devotion: Richly Blessed. The last line of this devotion really struck me.
🙂
Faith in God’s goodness puts a song in your heart and praise on your lips.

It was as if the Lord reminded me that if I trust Him, follow His lead and know that He is good; He would put a song in my heart.

[LORD]You are good{excellent, right, moral} and do good{to be joyful, glad, right}; Teach me Your statutes. -Ps 119:68

All your plans are good, giving a future and a hope. -Jere 29:11

Today I read this! From: Dana

Dana Klibert
He wants you to know that you are His Beloved & that He has plans for you, plans to bless you soundly. He wants you following His course. He says He will always be with you & He says He will never let you down.

The Lord woke me up & took me to a page that said this Word & put it on my heart to post it here & many people came to my mind that it could be for, but I don’t know who you are, but my guess is He does lol! He doesn’t wake me up often, so I know in my heart that whoever you are, you really need this & He even went to the trouble of confirming it for me before I posted it cause He knows me. =o)

He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good and gave you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness. -Acts 14:17

Faith in God’s goodness puts a song in your heart and praise on your lips!

TRUST in the LORD and His goodness!

Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. … Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! -Ps 34:5,8

Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear, revere, and worship You, goodness which You have wrought for those who trust and take refuge in You before the sons of men! -Ps 31:19

O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together. -Ps 34:3

Who Will See the King in His Beauty?

October 17, 2010

Who will see the King in His beauty?

He who walks righteously and speaks with sincerity,
… He who rejects unjust gain
… And shakes his hands so that they hold no bribe;
… He who stops his ears from hearing about bloodshed
… And shuts his eyes from looking upon evil;
He will dwell on the heights,
… His refuge will be the impregnable rock;
… His bread will be given him,
… His water will be sure.
Your eyes will see the King in His beauty;
… They will behold a far-distant land. -Isa 33:15-17

The upright, those who fear the Lord, will see the King; The light of His face; The smile of His countenance.

He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure. -Isa 33:6

The LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; The upright will behold His face. -Ps 11:7

In the light of a king’s face{countenance } is life, And his favor is like a cloud with the spring rain. -Prov 16:15

When the king smiles, there is life; His favor refreshes like a gentle rain. -Prov 16:15 NLT

The upright drink in His rain and rejoice/shine before His throne.

Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. -Ps 97:11

They waited for me as for showers and drank in my words as the spring rain. -Job 29:23 NIV

They waited for me as for the rain, and opened their mouth as for the spring rain. -Job 29:23 NASB

The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, they raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang: “He is good; his love endures forever.” Then the temple of the LORD was filled with a cloud. -2 Chron 5:13

… for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. -1 Cor 10:4

Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness

Splendor and majesty are before Him, strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. Give to the LORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts. Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness{holy attire, glory of the King}! Fear{tremble, kneel} before Him, all the earth. -Ps 96:6-9

Drink in His presence
Drink from His glory cloud
Drink in His rain
Drink in His word

See the King’s favor
See the King’s smile
See the King in His beauty

But there{Zion} the majestic One, the LORD, will be for us
… A place of rivers and wide canals
… On which no boat with oars will go,
… And on which no mighty ship will pass– -Isa 33:21

Those who look to and wait on the King, will be radiant with joy
Their faces will shine with the light of His countenance
A beautiful shining procession of stars
His city on His hill will not be hidden!

Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces! -Ps 34:5 NLT

They that sing as well as they that dance shall say, All my fountains are in thee{city of God}. -Ps 87:7

Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert. … And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away. -Isa 35:6,10

Drink in His reign.

God Will Lift Up Your Head!

October 13, 2010

Psalm 33:20 We wait in hope for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.

Psalm 3:3-4 But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

4With my voice I cry to the Lord, and He hears and answers me out of His holy hill. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

I was grateful this morning that the Lord is my help and shield. I was thanking Him for making a way where there is no way and that He sees the way clearly when I can not. I just need to ‘wait’ in hope for Him to lift up my head and show me the way. It was as if the Lord answered me with this song.
🙂
Be encouraged! God will lift up Your head too!
His hands are strong.

Through waves and clouds and storms,
He gently clears the way
Wait because in His time,
so shall this night
Soon end in joy

🙂

God Will Lift up Your Head
Jars of Clay

Give to the wind your fear
Hope and be undismayed
God hears your sighs and
counts your tears
God will lift up, God
will lift up, lift up
your head

Leave to His sovereign sway
To choose and to command
Then shall we wandering on His way
Know how wise and how strong
How wise and how strong

Through waves and clouds and storms,
He gently clears the way
Wait because in His time,
so shall this night
Soon end in joy, soon end in joy
Soon end in joy, soon end in joy

God will lift up your head
Soon end in joy

Chorus:
God will lift up your head
God will lift up your head
God will lift up your head
Lift up your head

From: Commentary

Barnes:
The image is that of a musical procession, where the singers go before, followed by those who play on various instruments of music. The idea seems to be that when the number of the true friends of God shall be made up, or shall all be enrolled, there will be a triumphal procession; or, they are seen by the psalmist, moving before God as in a triumphal procession.

Gussetius:
“all my fountains will be singing in thee, or of thee, as those that dance at the sound of the pipe:”

taking the allusion to be to the playing of fountains in gardens, and to the delightful sound the waters make;

Morning Salute

October 9, 2010

Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master,
… so our eyes look to the Lord our God,
… until He has mercy and loving-kindness for us. -Ps 123:2 AMP

My hands are stretched out to You: my soul is turned to You,
… like a land in need of water. (Selah.)

Be quick in answering me, O Lord,
… for the strength of my spirit is gone: let me see your face,
… so that I may not be like those who go down into the underworld.
Let the story of Your mercy come to me in the morning,
… for my hope is in You:
… give me knowledge of the way in which I am to go;
… for my soul is lifted up to You. -Ps 143:6-8 BBE

From: Flickr.com

I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope.
My soul waits for the Lord,
… More than those who watch for the morning––
… Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.-Ps 130:5-6 NKJV

Lord Jesus help us always look to You and place all of our hope in You and Your word. Give us hearts that thirst only for You. Help us to lift up our souls and know that we belong to You.

O satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. -Ps 90:14
