Psalm 9:10 Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You.

… name[08034]= reputation, fame, glory, character

… forsake[05800]= depart from, leave behind, abandon, neglect

… seek[01875] = to seek with care in prayer & worship, to diligently inquire/follow

  • *in v8 “To know” the Lord’s “name” means to be his follower, recognizing his authority and maintaining loyalty to him.
  • *in Ps 91:14 “knowing” the Lord’s “name” is associated with loving him.

Those who know the name of the Lord trust and love Him; they declare/proclaim His name. -Ps 9:10,91:14

Declaring/knowing/’seeing’ His glory, mercy, grace, longsuffering {slow to anger}, goodness, truth, forgiveness, greatness, justice and righteousness are part of declaring/knowing/’seeing’ His name. -Exo 33:18-19,34:5-7 ;Deut 32:3;Jere 9:23-24

Those who declare/know His name make their boast in the Lord {understand His character}, praise His greatness{ascribe greatness} and have high praise {a new song} continually in their mouth! -Jere 9:23-24;Deut 32:3;Ps34:1-3

High praise is associated with the song of Moses and the Song of the Lamb; singing a new song.
From Harps of God:
The harp goes with the singing of the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb; it is associated with singing a new song. The new song in (Rev 15:2-4) seems to spring forth as a celebration of victory, a celebration of deliverance by the Lord’s mighty hand. It is also a celebration of the confession of truth, of the goodness and greatness of the Lord. A similar thing is seen in Psalms 33:1-5, 43:3-5, 71:22-24.

Psalm 40:3He has put a new song in my mouth — {high} praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord.

Psalm 34:3 NKJV … O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.
… NLT … Come, let us tell of the LORD’s greatness; let us exalt His name together.
… BBE … O give praise to the Lord with me; let us be witnesses together of His great name.

very true….praise is sweet when life is simple and we are growing in the Lord.

praise is priceless when we go through deep troubles, and trials and attacks.

Yes! Praise is sweet and priceless in trials. It brings God near.

      🙂

As for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge{I have put my trust in the Lord GOD}, That I may tell of all Your works. -Ps 73:28
