Treat Others In All Purity

1 Timothy 5:1-2 AMP
1 Do not sharply censure or rebuke an older man, but entreat and plead with him as [you would with] a father. Treat younger men like brothers;
2 [Treat] older women like mothers [and] younger women like sisters, in all purity.

Treat others as if in a family relationship, “in all purity”.

1 Peter 1:22 AMP
22 Since by your obedience to the Truth through the [Holy] Spirit you have purified your hearts for the sincere affection of the brethren, [see that you] love one another fervently from a pure heart.
23 You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.

Obedience to the Truth – the ever living, ever lasting Word of God,
through the Holy Spirit purifies the heart. This purification precedes the ability to love one another fervently.

John 14:21 AMP
21 The person who has My commands and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me; and whoever [really] loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I [too] will love him and will show (reveal, manifest) Myself to him. [I will let Myself be clearly seen by him and make Myself real to him.]

Obedience to the Truth reveals the one who really loves the Father and the Son – Jesus Christ. This is the one who the Son reveals Himself to.

Without obeying the Truth through the Holy Spirit can there be any real/sincere biblical love for each other? For the Father and the Son?

Prayer:
Philippians 1:9-11 NKJV
9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be *sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

From NetBible Phil 1:10

  • sincere[1506] = found pure when unfolded and examined by the sun’s light, tested as genuine, unspotted
  • *from heile (the sun’s ray) and 2919; judged by sunlight, i.e. tested
    as genuine (figuratively):-pure, sincere.

What a beautiful picture of a sincere pure heart!

The heart of one with a “sincere” devotion to the Lord will be found pure when examined and judged by the Son, the light of the world. It will be a heart that has willingly submitted to Lord’s searching and cleansing.

    1 John 3:1-3 AMP
3 See what [an incredible] quality of love the Father has given (shown, bestowed on) us, that we should [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! The reason that the world does not know (recognize, acknowledge) us is that it does not know (recognize, acknowledge) Him.
2 Beloved, we are [even here and] now God’s children; it is not yet disclosed (made clear) what we shall be [hereafter], but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall [as God’s children] resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He [really] is.
3 And everyone who has this hope [resting] on Him cleanses (purifies) himself just as He is pure (chaste, undefiled, guiltless).

    John 17:16-19 AMP
16 They are not of the world (worldly, belonging to the world), [just] as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth.
18 Just as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
19 And so for their sake and on their behalf I sanctify (dedicate, consecrate) Myself, that they also may be sanctified (dedicated, consecrated, made holy) in the Truth.
