No Eye Has Seen – BUT

May 29, 2015

No eye has seen
No ear has heard
No heart has perceived
All that the Lord has prepared
All that He has made and keeps ready
For those who love Him
Jesus Christ …

BUT to us[those who love and obey Him]
The Holy Spirit reveals these things hidden from the world.

Thank You Lord Jesus, that the power to witness Your truths to the world does not rest on human wisdom or my persuasive words! Thank You that it’s the power of Your Spirit flowing through me, it’s Your Spirit that stirs the minds of the hearers, I need only to be obedient to Your Spirit. Help me to trust You and not my own understanding. Help me follow Your lead today and always.

1 Corinthians 2:4-5, 9-13 AMP
4 And my language and my message were not set forth in persuasive (enticing and plausible) words of wisdom, but they were in demonstration of the [Holy] Spirit and power [a proof by the Spirit and power of God, operating on me and stirring in the minds of my hearers the most holy emotions and thus persuading them],
5 So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men (human philosophy), but in the power of God. …

9 But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed].
10 Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man’s scrutiny].
11 For what person perceives (knows and understands) what passes through a man’s thoughts except the man’s own spirit within him? Just so no one discerns (comes to know and comprehend) the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favor and blessing so freely and lavishly] bestowed on us by God.
13 And we are setting these truths forth in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the [Holy] Spirit, combining and interpreting spiritual truths with spiritual language [to those who possess the Holy Spirit].

Remember New Mercies

May 25, 2015

Lamentations 3:18-20 AMP
18 And I [Jeremiah] say, Perished is my strength and my expectation from the Lord.
19 [O Lord] remember [earnestly] my affliction and my misery, my wandering and my outcast state, the wormwood and the gall.
20 My soul has them continually in remembrance and is bowed down within me.

Does your strength and expectation from the Lord seem gone? Like Jeremiah are you focusing on your affliction or negative circumstances?

Remember who your hope is in
=> remember the Lord’s mercy NEW every morning …

Lamentations 3:21-24 AMP
21 But this I [Jeremiah] recall and therefore have I hope and expectation:
22 It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.
24 The Lord is my portion or share, says my living being (my inner self); therefore will I hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him.

Pulling Down Strongholds

May 23, 2015

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NLT
3 We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. 4 We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle[imagination] that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

The above scripture keeps coming up in relation to spiritual warfare. I like the above version because it makes clear what these strongholds are
=> human reasonings and false arguments.

From NetBible 2 Cor 10:4

  • *Paul is referring here to the false arguments of his opponents, calling them figuratively “strongholds”.

From NetBible 2 Cor 10:5

  • imaginations[3053] = a reasoning: such as is hostile to the Christian faith, all arrogance

The only “offensive” weapon => the sword = the word of God

Ephesians 6:17 AMP
17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.

It is by bearing witness to and obeying the Truth that strongholds are pulled down.

John 18:36-37 AMP
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom (kingship, royal power) belongs not to this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My followers would have been fighting to keep Me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, My kingdom is not from here (this world); [it has no such origin or source].
37 Pilate said to Him, Then You are a King? Jesus answered, You say it! [You speak correctly!] For I am a King. [Certainly I am a King!] This is why I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the Truth. Everyone who is of the Truth [who is a friend of the Truth, who belongs to the Truth] hears and listens to My voice.

Jesus Prays:
John 17:14-20 AMP
14 I have given and delivered to them Your word (message) and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world [do not belong to the world], just as I am not of the world.
15 I do not ask that You will take them out of the world, but that You will keep and protect them from the evil one.
16 They are not of the world (worldly, belonging to the world), [just] as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth.
18 Just as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
19 And so for their sake and on their behalf I sanctify (dedicate, consecrate) Myself, that they also may be sanctified (dedicated, consecrated, made holy) in the Truth.
20 Neither for these alone do I pray [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust in, cling to, rely on) Me through their word and teaching …

Anointed with Fresh Oil

May 19, 2015

Be anointed with fresh oil Ps 92:10
Fresh strength to make Christ shine.

A tree planted in the house of the Lord
Bringing forth fruit in season for food
And leaves very green
For the healing of the nations.
Ps 1:3;Ezek 47:12;Rev 22:1-2

The word of the Lord shall not return void
Seed for the sower
Bread for the eater
As it’s sent and eaten
The purposes of the Lord will be accomplished!

A tree planted and anointed in the house of the Lord
An everlasting memorial
To the faithfulness and praise of the Lord
An everlasting sign
An everlasting song.
Isa 55:10-13

Jesus our everlasting strength and song
Is 12:2-3;Ex 15:1-2

Psalm 92:10-15 AMP
10 But my horn (emblem of excessive strength and stately grace) You have exalted like that of a wild ox; I am anointed with fresh oil.

From NetBible Ps 92:10

  • * The horn of the wild ox is frequently a metaphor for military strength; the idiom “to exalt/lift up the horn” signifies military victory
  • horn[07161] = strength, flask of oil, shining light

11 My eye looks upon those who lie in wait for me; my ears hear the evildoers that rise up against me.
12 The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible].
13 Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 [Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment].
15 [They are living memorials] to show that the Lord is upright and faithful to His promises; He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

From NetBible Ps 92:12-15

  • flourish[ 06524] = to break forth as a bud, i.e. bloom; generally, to spread; specifically, to fly (as extending the wings); figuratively, to blossom, break forth (out), bud, flourish, make fly, grow, spread, spring (up).
  • full of sap[01879] = filled with vitality
    *from [01878] = anointed, fat
  • rich in verdue[07488]= fresh, green, flourishing

Isaiah 55:10-13 AMP
10 For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
12 For you shall go out [from the spiritual exile caused by sin and evil into the homeland] with joy and be led forth [by your Leader, the Lord Himself, and His word] with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; and it shall be to the Lord for a name of renown, for an everlasting sign [of jubilant exaltation] and memorial [to His praise], which shall not be cut off.

In Faithfulness and Truth

May 16, 2015

Psalm 33:1,4-5 AMP
1 Rejoice in the Lord, O you [uncompromisingly] righteous [you upright in right standing with God]; for praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright [in heart]. …

4 For the word of the Lord is right; and all His work is done in faithfulness.
5 He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the loving-kindness{goodness} of the Lord.

From Treasury of David:

  • All his works are done in truth. His work is the outflow of his word, and it is true to it.
  • To act truth as well as to utter it is divine. Let not children of God ever yield their principles in practice any more than in heart
  • God writes with a pen that never blots, speaks with a tongue that never slips, acts with a hand which never fails. Bless his name!
  • Adam Clarke:
A fourfold argument for praise, from the truth, the faithfulness, the justice, and goodness of God:

    • For the word of the Lord is right.
    • All his works are done in truth.
    • He loveth righteousness and judgment.
    • The earth is full of his goodness.

Psalm 111:7-8 AMP
7 The works of His hands are [absolute] truth and justice [faithful and right]; and all His decrees and precepts are sure (fixed, established, and trustworthy).
8 They stand fast and are established forever and ever and are done in [absolute] truth and uprightness.

From Treasury of David:

  • Whatever the mighty Lord decrees,
    Shall stand for ever sure.
The settled purpose of his heart
    To ages shall endure.
  • The works of God expound his word, in his works his word is often made visible.
  • Every action of a Christian ought to be one of Christ’s truths

Psalm 33:20-22 AMP
20 Our inner selves wait [earnestly] for the Lord; He is our Help and our Shield.
21 For in Him does our heart rejoice, because we have trusted (relied on and been confident) in His holy name.
22 Let Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, be upon us, in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You.

Isaiah 1:18 AMP
18 Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool.

From NetBible Isa 1:18

  • This purification will only occur if the people repent and change their ways.
  • The point is not that the sins will be covered up, though still retained. … The people’s sins will be removed and replaced by ethical purity. The sins that are now as obvious as the color red will be washed away and the ones who are sinful will be transformed.

Ecclesiastes 9:8 AMP
8 Let your garments be always white [with purity], and let your head not lack [the] oil [of gladness].

Isaiah 61:10-11 BBE
I will be full of joy in the Lord, my soul will be glad in my God; for he has put on me the clothing of salvation, covering me with the robe of righteousness, as the husband puts on a fair head-dress, and the bride makes herself beautiful with jewels. For as the earth puts out buds, and as the garden gives growth to the seeds which are planted in it, so the Lord will make righteousness and praise to be flowering before all the nations.
