Thirst for Living Water

July 28, 2015

Psalm 63:1-5 AMP

Psalm 63
A Psalm of David; when he was in the Wilderness of Judah.

1 O God, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You, my flesh longs and is faint for You, in a dry and weary land where no water is.
2 So I have looked upon You in the sanctuary to see Your power and Your glory.
3 Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.
4 So will I bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.
5 My whole being shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips …

Lord I thirst for You
As the deer pants for streams of water
In a dry and weary land
So my soul pants for You Lord
My Living Water.
 –Ps 42:1-2;Jn 4:10;Jer 2:13,17:13;Rev 7:17

Because Your unfailing love is better than life
My joyful lips brim praises like fountains and
My arms wave like banners of praise to You. –
Ps 63 MSG

Only You Lord Jesus can satisfy.

Psalm 42:1-2 NIV
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

Healing Peace

Isaiah 26:3-4 AMP
3 You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. 4 So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].

He leads me beside still waters –

From NetBible Ps 23:2

Isaiah 48:17-18 NLT
17 This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow. 18 Oh, that you had listened to my commands! Then you would have had peace flowing like a gentle river and righteousness rolling over you like waves in the sea.

John 14:27 AMP
Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. From NetBible Nahum 1:7

  • * The Lord is good to those who trust Him – who seek His refuge
  • * The Lord is good to His people => because  like a fortress – He protects them in time of distress

Psalm 18:30-31 AMP
As for God, His way is perfect! The word of the Lord is tested and tried; He is a shield to all those who take refuge and put their trust in Him. 31 For who is God except the Lord? Or who is the Rock{Protector} save our God?

A Song:

He is good
and His goodness
– your shield
– your strength
– your song …   -Ps22:3;Ex15:2;Is12:2;Ps118:14-15

The Lord is good and
His tender mercies are over all He has made
=>Especially His children – the sheep of His pasture.

Nahum 1:7 AMP
The Lord is good, a Strength and Stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows (recognizes, has knowledge of, and understands) those who take refuge and trust in Him.

From NetBible Nahum 1:7

  • * The Lord is good to those who trust Him – seek His refuge
  • * The Lord is good to His people => because  like a fortress – He protects them in time of distress

Psalm 34:8 AMP
O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him.

From NetBible Ps 34:8

  • * Take refuge = “Taking shelter” in the Lord is an idiom for seeking his protection. Seeking his protection presupposes and even demonstrates the subject’s loyalty to the Lord. In the psalms those who “take shelter” in the Lord are contrasted with the wicked and equated with those who love, fear, and serve theLord (Pss 2:12; 5:11-12; 31:17-20; 34:21-22).

Psalm 100:3-5 AMP
Know (perceive, recognize, and understand with approval) that the Lord is God! It is He Who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]! We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name! 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations.

Psalm 52:1 NKJV

The End of the Wicked and the Peace of the Godly
To the Chief Musician. A Contemplation of David when Doeg the Edomite went and told Saul, and said to him, “David has gone to the house of Ahimelech.”

1 Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man?
The goodness of God endures continually.

From NetBible Ps 52:1

  • * The goodness of God endures continually = “the loyal love of God [is] all the day.” In this context, where the psalmist is threatened by his enemy, the point seems to be that the psalmist is protected by God’s loyal love at all times.

Remember the Lord’s Goodness

July 20, 2015

Psalm 27:13 NASB
I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living.

Need hope?
Remember the goodness of the Lord!
He is utterly trustworthy and faithful
To finish what He started in you!

Need #HOPE =>Remember the Lord’s Goodness-Jesus is utterly trustworthy&faithful! #TrustHim

Discouraged? Believe U will see the goodness of theLord in the land of the living #TrustJesus He’ll strengthen Ur ❤

1 Thessalonians 5:24 AMP
Faithful is He Who is calling you [to Himself] and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it [fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you].

Philippians 1:6 AMP
And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.

Hebrews 10:35-37 NLT
So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord, no matter what happens. Remember the great reward it brings you! 36 Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised. 37 For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay.

A Sound “Healing” Heart

July 18, 2015

To my surprise, the study of a sound heart from the below proverb shows how sound doctrine is related to obtaining a sound heart and life/healing to the body.

Image from Free Wallpaper

Proverbs 14:30 NKJV
A sound heart is life to the body, but envy is rottenness to the bones.

From Prv 14:30

  • sound heart[04832] = healing, cure, sound (of mind)
    * from [07495] = to heal, make healthful, to cure, make whole
    * sound heart = a healing heart = a heart at peace
    * A healthy spirit is tranquil, bringing peace to the body

Sound heart = Healing heart = Sound mind
=> is tranquil bringing life, peace and healing to the body!

Luke 6:45 AMP
The upright (honorable, intrinsically good) man out of the good treasure [stored] in his heart produces what is upright (honorable and intrinsically good), and the evil man out of the evil storehouse brings forth that which is depraved (wicked and intrinsically evil); for out of the abundance (overflow) of the heart his mouth speaks.

Sound doctrine = Sound (healing)heart = Sound mind
=> Sound speech

Titus 2:1-2 AMP
1 But [as for] you, teach what is fitting and becoming to sound (wholesome) doctrine [the character and right living that identify true Christians]. 2 Urge the older men to be temperate, venerable (serious), sensible, self-controlled, and sound in the faith, in the love, and in the steadfastness and patience [of Christ].

2 Timothy 1:7 AMP
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.

Sound doctrine = Sound (healing)heart = Sound mind
=> Sound speech & Sound judgement
=> Sound life to the body!

Hebrews 5:11-14 AMP
11 Concerning this we have much to say which is hard to explain, since you have become dull in your [spiritual] hearing and sluggish [even slothful in achieving spiritual insight]. 12 For even though by this time you ought to be teaching others, you actually need someone to teach you over again the very first principles of God’s Word. You have come to need milk, not solid food. 13 For everyone who continues to feed on milk is obviously inexperienced and unskilled in the doctrine of righteousness (of conformity to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action), for he is a mere infant [not able to talk yet]! 14 But solid food is for full-grown men, for those whose senses and mental faculties are trained by practice to discriminate and distinguish between what is morally good and noble and what is evil and contrary either to divine or human law.

1 John 4:1 AMP
Beloved, do not put faith in every spirit, but prove (test) the spirits to discover whether they proceed from God; for many false prophets have gone forth into the world.

Serve and Be Blessed!

July 17, 2015

Serve the Lord with gladness-Know U are in the Good Shepherd’s care-Be blessed-He will take sickness from Ur midst!

Psalm 100:2-3 AMP
2 Serve the Lord with gladness! Come before His presence with singing! 3 Know (perceive, recognize, and understand with approval) that the Lord is God! It is He Who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]! We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Exodus 23:25-26 AMP
25 You shall serve the Lord your God; He shall bless your bread and water, and I will take sickness from your midst. 26 None shall lose her young by miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.

Spirit Power

July 15, 2015

When you are afraid – REMEMBER
=>Hold fast to Christ and He will give
… The will to see you through;
… And if you keep on keeping on,
… Your strength He will renew. —D. De Haan -From ODB

2 Timothy 1:7 AMP
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.

From NetBible 2Tim 1:7

  • spirit[4151] = Holy Spirit, breath of God
  • timidity[1167] = fearfulness, cowardice
  • power[1411] = strength, ability, might
  • love[26] = agape: brotherly love, affection, good will, benevolence
  • sound mind[4995] = self-control, moderation, discipline

#FearNot =>Hold fast to Christ&He will give the will to see U thru-Keep on keeping on&Ur strength He will renew!

.Thank You Lord Jesus that as I hold fast to You and depend on You(especially when I am afraid) – You will strengthen me by Your Holy Spirit. Please fill me with Your Spirit so Your Spirit of power, love and sound mind will be demonstrated in my life. Amen.

Joy in Sorrow

July 14, 2015

2 Corinthians 6:10 NKJV
… as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

From NetBible 2 Co 6:10

  • sorrowful[3076] = affect with sadness, grief
  • always rejoicing[5463] = rejoice exceedingly, be glad, “cheer”ful==>always have joy, always filled with deep joy, ever glad

One day we won’t be “sorrowful, yet always rejoicing” – the sorrow will be wiped away. The Lord will wipe away every tear!

Be joyful, rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Moreover, let us also be full of joy now – even in sorrow!

Remember – the Lord Jesus Christ is the only One who can turn your sorrow into joyful dancing, let Him remove your sackcloth and cloth you with joy!

One day we wont be sorrowful-Yet always rejoicing-Sorrow will be wiped away-Rejoice #TrustGOD make it thru the night!

Revelation 21:4-5 AMP
4 God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish (sorrow and mourning) nor grief nor pain any more, for the old conditions and the former order of things have passed away.
5 And He Who is seated on the throne said, See! I make all things new. Also He said, Record this, for these sayings are faithful (accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy) and true (genuine).

Romans 5:1-5 AMP
1 Therefore, since we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
2 Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God’s favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God.
3 Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance.
4 And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation.
5 Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.

Psalm 30:4-5,11-12 NLT
4 Sing to the Lord, all you godly ones! Praise His holy name.5 For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night,  but joy comes with the morning. …
… 11 You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing.
You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy 12 that I might sing praises to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give You thanks forever!
