Author and Finisher

Psalm 40:1-2 AMP
1 I waited patiently and expectantly for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry. 2 He drew me up out of a horrible pit [a pit of tumult and of destruction], out of the miry clay (froth and slime), and set my feet upon a rock, steadying my steps and establishing my goings.

Whatever you are going through TODAY
Fix your eyes on Jesus
Wait expectantly on Him.

Follow His lead and He will establish you on firm ground.

Remember the One who is able
He is faithful to complete what He started
He is the Author and Finisher of your faith!

Count it all joy!

Prayer:
Hebrews 10:36 AMP
36 For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised.

James 1:2-4 AMP
2 Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.
3 Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.4 Let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.

Hebrews 12:1-2 AMPC
1 Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,
2 Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Philippians 1:6 AMP
6 And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.

    From ODB:
INSIGHT: The writer of Hebrews paints a picture of an athletic competition, using the metaphor of a long-distance foot race to exhort believers to endure and persevere in the life of faith (vv.1-2). The apostle Paul also often used the idea of the race to speak of the challenges of living the Christian life (1 Cor. 9:24-27; Gal. 5:7; Phil. 3:13-14; 2 Tim. 4:7). The constant call is this: “Don’t give up. Keep your eyes on the finish line and finish the race!” The runner who completes the race will receive his reward (1 Cor. 9:25; 2 Tim. 4:8; 1 Peter 5:4; Rev. 2:10).
