Breathe Apples of Gold

October 20, 2015

Proverbs 15:23 AMP … A man has joy in making an apt answer, and a word spoken at the right moment—how good it is!

Proverbs 25:11 NASB … Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a word spoken at the right time.

Apples of gold
Apples of gold
Lord I desire apples of gold.

Oh to breathe in Your sweet scent
The fragrance of Your breath like apples –Song 7:8
The sweet smelling scent of life –2 Cor 2:15
Lord blow upon Your garden –Song 4:15-16
Oh to breathe in and out Your apples of gold
Refresh me with apples of joy! –Song 2:5

Apples of gold
Apples of joy
An incense so sweet
A living sacrifice –
Eph5:1-2; Ro12:1-2; Ps45:11
In the place of apples
In the fragrant place of praise
Lord, You are my praise! – Jer 17:14;Ex 15:2;Ps 132:13-14

These apples of gold contain a fragrance that can be breathed in and out!

Apples of gold are breathed by the Holy Spirit. They contain the fragrance of Christ, bringing life. These apples “breathe” – refresh, quicken, revive and restore from sickness, discouragement, faintness, and/or death. They bring joy. Isn’t it interesting that the “place of apples”, the place where these apples are “breathed” is in Judah, assigned to the tribe of Judah = praise/He is to be praised?!

An Incense So Sweet{Article}

Proverbs 25:11 NASB … Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a word spoken at the right time.

The Hand of the Lord Came Upon

October 18, 2015

Psalm 139:5 NIV … You hem me in—behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.

I was thinking about the Lord “hemming me in” and looking at the above image. The image looks like the secret place of Psalm 91 beneath the wings of the Lord. The secret place on high before the Lord’s throne from my previous post (Flying Soaring Wings)

Then I remembered Ezekiel 40:1-2, where the Lord brought Ezekiel to a “very high mountain”! Again this made me think of the secret place on high before the Lord’s throne. Notice below, before the Lord brought Ezekiel to this high mountain – the hand of the Lord was upon him. It’s from this high mountain that Ezekiel receives a vision from the Lord. In Ezekiel God’s hand being on the prophet Ezekiel is regularly associated with communication or a vision from God. Ezekiel 40:1-2 is especially interesting because it shows that this communication from God takes place on Mt Zion, the place where the Most High dwells, the secret place in the shadow of His wings. A place that you can only go to if God’s hand lifts you up and places you there(Ps 40:1-3)!

Ezekiel 40:1-2 NASB … In the twenty-fifth year of our exile, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth of the month, in the fourteenth year after the city was taken, on that same day the hand of the LORD was upon me and He brought me there. 2 In the visions of God He brought me into the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain, and on it to the south there was a structure like a city.

From NetBible Ezek 40:1

  • *Hand upon in the OT can refer metaphorically to power, authority, or influence. In Ezekiel God’s hand being on the prophet is regularly associated with communication or a vision from God
    =>Ezekiel 1:1-3; 3:12-14, 22; 8:1; 37:1; 40:1

From NetBible Ezek 40:2

  • In the visions of God = By means of divine visions => The expression introduces the three major visions of Ezekiel (Ezekiel 1:1; 8:1,3; 40:1,2)
  • a very high mountain = harmonious with Isa 2:2
    Isaiah 2:2 NASB … Now it will come about that In the last days The mountain of the house of the LORD Will be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it.

    • * The image of Mount Zion being elevated above other mountains and hills pictures the prominence it will attain in the future.
    • * Mt Zion = the place where the Lord dwells = the secret place (Ps 132:13-14; Ps 91:1)

Flying Soaring Wings

October 15, 2015

Thinking about the wings of the dove and the wings of an eagle soaring through the clouds. The Lord reminded me of something He inspired me to do in the past. I made the following image. (See the Lion of Judah behind the clouds?)

A beautiful eagle is lifted high, soaring in the clouds. The royal Lion of Judah is in the background, supplying the wind (the roar), the power, the breath of the Spirit beneath the eagle’s wings.

The soaring eagle, it’s the eagle of (Is 40:28-31), the promise that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength and not grow weary. They will soar on wings like eagles. Placing all hope and trust in the Lord, waiting on Him, this is how one soars. This is also a key step in worship, in entering the Lord’s courts, His sanctuary, the secret place, His manifest presence (Ps 100; Ps 91:1-4). He inhabits, is enthroned on the praises of His people (Ps 22:3;Ex 15:2;Rv 5:6,9-13;Ps 40:1-3). The Lord himself guides those who trust in Him to this place where He dwells (Ps 43). The Lord prepares and draws those who have clean hands and pure willing hearts to this secret place (Ps 24).

The secret place is also the place of rest, the dove longs to fly away to. The place before the throne where prophecy happens(Ps 55:6;Ps 68:8,13). A place of spiritual wisdom and vision seen in the eyes of both the eagle and dove(Is 40:28;1 Cor 2:7-10;Ps 32:7-8). A place of double portion(Is 61). A place of freedom in the Spirit of the Lord! (2 Cor 3:17) SOAR!!!!!

Isaiah 61:6-7 – Double Portion
You will be called the priests of the LORD;
You will be spoken of as ministers of our God.
You will eat the wealth of nations,
And in their glory{honour} you will boast.
Instead of your shame you shall have double honor,
And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.
Therefore in their land they shall possess double;
Everlasting joy shall be theirs.

Hebrews 10:35-37 NLT …  So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord, no matter what happens. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised. From NetBible Lk 11:8

  • *Persistence here refers to a combination of ideas, a boldness or audacity that persists over time. Some translate the term shamelessness or importunity. It’s a refusal to give up or let go.

Deborah and Gold

Deborah = a prophetess and judge
She used prophecy to apply the law and govern –
Jdg 4:4-5

Psalm 19:9-10 AMP … 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true, they are righteous altogether. 10 They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.

From NetBible Ps 19:9

  • * The phrase “fear of the Lord” probably refers here to the law, which teaches one how to demonstrate proper reverence for the Lord.
  • * The Lord’s commands/judgements accurately reflect God’s moral will for his people and are an expression of his just character.

And there shall be a pavilion[tabernacle] for shade in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge and a shelter from storm and from rain.

From NetBible Isa 4:5-6

  • dwelling place[04349] = established place, habitation
  • canopy[02646] = divine protection, defense

  • pavilion[05521] =tabernacle, booth
  • shade[06738] = shadow, protection, defense

Psalm 91:1-2, 4 AMP

  • *  The divine name used here is “Shaddai” (שַׁדַּיshadday; see also Ps 68:14). Shaddai (or El Shaddai) is the mighty king (sovereign judge) of the world who grants life/blesses and kills/judges. In Genesis he blesses the patriarchs with fertility and promises numerous descendants. Outside Genesis he both blesses/protects and takes away life/happiness.
