Who Will Show Us Good?

Psalm 4:6-7 NASB … Many are saying, “Who will show us any good?”
Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O Lord! 7 You have put gladness in my heart, more than when their grain and new wine abound.

Who will show us any good?

Lord, You are good and kind and do good
Teach me Your statutes. -Ps 119:68 AMPC

That I may do right in Your sight. –Dt 6:18

Lord, experiencing Your loyal love
Your faithfulness
Your kindness
Your mercy
Your goodness
Your smile
=>Is better than life! –
Ps 63:3

Therefore I lift up my hands in Your name{Jesus}
And bless You. –
Ps 63:4

Quote Treasury of David: Psalm 4 :
Christ in the heart is better than corn in the barn, or wine in the vat. Corn and wine are but fruits of the world, but the light of God’s countenance is the ripe fruit of heaven. … I am yet full of blessings if Jesus Christ smiles upon me; but if I have all the world, I am poor without Him.

Numbers 6:24-26 AMPC … The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you; 25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you; 26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).

From NetBible Num 6:24-26

  • The verb “to keep” concerns the divine protection of the people; its basic meaning is “to exercise great care over,” “to guard,” or “to give attention to”. No doubt the priestly blessing informed the prayer and promise that makes up Ps 121, for the verb occurs six times in the eight verses. So in addition to the divine provision (“bless” basically means “enrich” in a number of ways) there is the assurance of divine protection.
  • To be gracious/ show favor = The picture of divine favor – the beaming face of a parent for his beloved.
  • For God to lift up his face is for God to give peace. The idea of the fallen face is one of anger (see Gen 4:6,7); and the idea of the hidden face is that of withholding support, favor, or peace (see Deut 31:18Ps 30:8Ps 44:25). If God lifts his face toward his people, it means he has given them peace – peace, prosperity, completeness, health, safety, general well-being, and the like.
