Valiant Hand

Psalm 118:14-17 AMPC …  The Lord is my Strength and Song; and He has become my Salvation. 15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation{deliverance} is in the tents{tabernacles} and private dwellings of the [uncompromisingly] righteous: the right hand of the Lord does valiantly and achieves strength! 16 The right hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord does valiantly and achieves strength! 17 I shall not die but live, and shall declare the works and recount the illustrious acts of the Lord.

Lift up your voice and praise the Lord with
… A voice of rejoicing
… A voice of triumph
… A celebration of victory
… Songs of joy
For the Lord your strength and song
He is the great King over all the earth.

Lift up your voice and SEE
… The King of glory –Ps 24:7
… Strong & mighty in battle –Ps 24:8
… The Lord of hosts –Ps 24:10
… His right hand exalted
… Lifted high in victory
His right hand does valiantly.

SEE the triumph in your praise!

  • voice of rejoicing[07440] = proclamation, joy, praise in triumph *{also Ps 47:1}
  • tents[0168] = dwelling, home, habitation, tabernacle, covering
  • does valiantly[02428] = does mighty things, conquers, achieves strength
    * The statement refers here to military success (see Num 24:181 Sam 14:48Pss 60:12; 108:13).

  • *awesome here refers to the Lord’s capacity to fill his defeated foes with terror and his people with fearful respect.
