Let your loins be girded{supported with Truth}
And keep your lamps burning –Lk 12:35

Without the belt of truth firmly tightened
You can not carry the sword of the Spirit
Which is the word of God! –
Eph 6:17
Without the sword there is NO protection
Against the terrors of the night –
Song 3:8

God’s word is a lamp unto your feet –Ps 119:105
Revealing the path of life! –Pro 10:17

From Keep Your Lamps Burning

A lamp in ancient times was a vessel with oil and a wick carried in the hand to light the path to walk on.

  • The picture here is that as we walk, our hand (which speaks of our works) needs to hold up (apply/do) the lamp (which is the Word) ==> then our lamps will be lit and burning and our eyes will see the “straight” path {path leading to life} before us!

Ephesians 6:10-17 AMPC … 10 In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. 11 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. 12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. 13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. 14 Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of {righteousness}integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God, 15 And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace. 16 Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one]. 17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.

Psalm 91:4 NLT … He will shield you with His wings. He will shelter you with His feathers. His faithful promises are your armor and protection{your protective wall}.

    Romans 13:12-13 New King James Version (NKJV)

    12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.
