Growing in Grace and Truth

  1. Read: 2Peter 3:1-7
    Above all know-remember this:
    => In the last days scoffers will deny the promise of Christ’s return.
    => Their argument against Christ’s return was this: since it has not occurred yet it will not happen.
    =>They “willfully” forgot the words of the Lord = about the flood as divine intervention.
    => v7: By His word the present heavens and earth are being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
    =>I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one will take your crown. -Rev 3:11
  2. Read: 2Peter 3:8-12
    => v9: The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
    => Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. 25 All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen. -Jude 1:24-25
  3. Read: 2Peter 3:13-18
    =>From Biblehub =>Ignorance naturally produces instability; those who have no clear principles of Christian doctrine easily fall victims to seductions of all kinds.
    => v14: Therefore, beloved, be diligent to live a pure and blameless life. And be at peace with God.

  4. Read: Psalm 119:1-8
    => Blessed are those{the upright} who walk in His ways
    => They keep His testimonies, seek, inquire for and of Him and crave Him with their whole heart.

  5. Read:  Psalm 119:9-12
    How can one keep their way pure?
    => Treasure His word in your heart!

    Lord help me to treasure Your word in my heart, that I may do what is pleasing in Your sight. With all my heart help me to delight to do Your will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

  8. Read: Psalm 119:22-27
    Your testimonies{unchanging word} are my delight
    They are my counsellors{the guide of my footsteps} –Ps 119:24
    Revive{quicken} me according to Your word –Ps 119:25

  9. Read: Romans 12:1-5
    With God’s mercy in view  –Ro 12:1
    Fix your eyes on Jesus
    Separate from the world  –Ro 12:2
    Think on His sacrifice
    A sacrifice He made in joy –He 12:2
    Present yourself in joy as a living and holy sacrifice  –Ro 12:1
    Be transformed and renewed
    In righteousness and holiness that comes from truth! –Ro 12:2;Eph 4:23-24
    The Father seeks those who worship Him in Spirit and Truth! –Jn 4:23-24

  10. Read: Romans 12:6-8
    Each has their own gift from God –1Cor 7:7
    Each has differing gifts given in grace
    According to the generosity of Christ –Eph 4:7
    These gifts of grace are meant to serve the body –1Pe 4:10
    Prophecy, is exercised according to the measure of faith
    Service, is exercised in service
    Teaching, in teaching
    Exhortation, in exhortation
    He who gives, in liberality
    He who leads, in diligence
    He who shows mercy, in cheerfulness
    There are a variety of gifts but the same Spirit. –1Cor 12:4


    Thank You Lord Jesus for Your gifts of grace. Help me to faithfully use my gifts to serve others in a way that is pleasing in Your sight.

  11. Read: Romans 12:9-16
    Be devoted to one another in love without hypocrisy
    Sincere love = both turning, separating from evil{hate evil} and clinging to good{fix your mind on good}
    The fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true. Eph 5:9

    Diligently serve the Lord
    => Be joyful in hope, patient in tribulation,
    => faithful in prayer  –Ro 12:12

    Lord, help us to always be joyful in hope, patient in tribulation, and diligent in prayer giving thanks in all circumstances. Help us to enthusiastically serve You! In Jesus’ name!  –Ro 12:11-12;Col 4:2;1Thess 5:16-18

  12. Read: Romans 12:17-21
    Never pay back evil for evil – Bless and do not curse
    Never take your own revenge
    Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
    => If possible be at peace with everyone!
  13. Read: Galatians 5:1-5
    Stand firm in the liberty by which Christ has made us free –Gal 5:1
    Circumcise{cleanse} your hearts
    =>Be stiff–necked no longer! –Dt 10:16
    For it is by grace you have been saved
    Through faith—and this not from yourselves
    It is the gift of God-Eph 2:8
    =>Do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage! –Gal 5:1

  14. Read: Galatians 5:13-18
    Do not be subject to the flesh
    For the mind set on flesh = death
    Let your mind be controlled by the Spirit
    => The mind set on the Spirit is life and peace –Ro 8:6
    The Lord is the Spirit and
    Where the Spirit of the Lord is
    => There is freedom –2Cor 3:17
    You were called to be free
    => Walk by the Spirit and live!

  15. Read: Galatians 5:19-25
    Do not be subject to the flesh
    Those who practice deeds of the flesh
    => will not inherit the kingdom of God.
    Live and walk by the Spirit –Gal 5:25
    => Let the fruit of the Spirit be evident to all!

  16. Read: Psalm 119:41-48
    Trust and follow the Lord
    => He leads in the way of wisdom; in upright paths –Pro 4:11
    => The path of life –Pro 12:28
    Then your  steps will not be impeded
    And if you run, you will not stumble! –Pro 4:12
    You will walk secure in liberty{freedom}
    => For You seek His instruction –Ps 119:45
    Delight in and love His commands! –Ps 119:47

  17. Read: Psalm 119:52-56
    Songs in the night
    A prayer to the God of my life. -Ps 42:8
  18. Read: Psalm 119:57-61
    The Lord is my source of security{my portion}
    I am determined  to follow His instructions -Ps 119:57
    I have considered my ways
    And turned my feet to His testimonies  -Ps 119:59
    I seek His face with all my heart
    => O LORD be gracious to me have mercy on me
    According to Your word as You have promised! -Ps 119:58

  20. Read: Hebrews 12:14-16
    Do not fall short of the grace of God
    Let no root of bitterness spring up in your heart
    Instead be rooted deep in Christ –Col 2:6-7
    The righteous can not be uprooted –Pro 12:3
    The wind may blow but those

  31. Read: Philippians 1:27-30
    Remember Christ when you suffer
    No servant is greater than his Master  –Jn 15:20
    Although Jesus was a Son
    He learned obedience from the things which He suffered –He 5:8
    So you too when you suffer count it all joy –Ja 1:2
    Blessed are those who are persecuted
    … for righteousness’ sake –Mt 5:10
    Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great!  –Mt 5:12

    You will lack no good thing.  –Ja 1:4; Ps 34:10
