Word Study
From Song 2:5

  • lovesick[02470] = to be or become weak, be or become sick, be or become diseased, be or
become grieved, be or become sorry, wounded

From  Pro 25:11
Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a word spoken at the right time.

  • apple[08598] = apple associated with fragrance
*From [05301] = to breathe, cause to breathe out
and [01054] = place of apples located in Judah[03063] = praise/He shall be praised (assigned to the tribe of Judah Josh 15 v53)
  • spoken[01696] = to declare, converse, command, promise, warn, threaten, prophesy, sing

=>These apples of gold contain a fragrance that can be breathed in and out!
Apples of gold are breathed by the Holy Spirit. They contain the fragrance of Christ, bringing life. These apples “breathe” – refresh, quicken, revive and restore from sickness, discouragement, faintness, and/or death. They bring joy. Isn’t it interesting that the “place of apples”, the place where these apples are “breathed” is in Judah, assigned to the tribe of Judah = praise/He is to be praised?!
From  Job 33:4
AMP … [It is] the Spirit of God that made me [which has stirred me up], and the breath of the Almighty that gives me life [which inspires me].

  • spirit[07307] = breath, wind, to inspire prophetically
*From [07306] = to smell, scent, perceive odor
  • breath[05397] = spirit, divine inspiration
  • gives life [02421] = revives, quickens, restores, refreshes
    • from sickness, discouragement, faintness, death

From  Jer 17:14
NET … Lord, grant me relief from my suffering so that I may have some relief. Rescue me from those who persecute me so that I may be rescued.

The Sheep and The Good Shepherd

A Song:

Keep in step, keep in step
With the Lord your God  –Gal 5:25
Keep in step, keep in step
Follow hard –Ps 63:8

With the Good Shepherd –Ps 23:1;Jn 10:14-15
In your sight
Not by power, Nor by might  –Zec 4:6
But by His Spirit follow close behind
Trust the Lord, taste and see –Ps 34:8
Surely, Forever, His goodness, His mercy
Follow as He leads –Ps 23:6

John 10:24-30The Jews then gathered around Him, and were saying to Him, “How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.” 25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father’s name, these testify of Me. 26 But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep. 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”

Grieving – Feeling Alone and Rejected?

October 24, 2018

I was grieved, feeling alone and rejected(because of the Word), when I came upon the above cartoon. It made me smile and really encouraged me!
What do you do when you feel this way? These passages give some interesting insight!
Jesus is rejected in His home town –Mt 13:53-58
After this He hears about John’s beheading – what does He do?
=> He withdraws to a private, solitary place –Mt 14:13
This was a deserted, desolate place –Mt 14:15
It’s very interesting that the crowds followed Him
… to this desolate place and it’s here
… the crowd is shown compassion and sick are healed! –Mt 14:14
It’s here in this desolate place that the 5000 are fed! –Mt 14:13-21
Grieved, feeling alone and rejected because of the Word? Mt 13:21
=> Get alone with Christ
=> Let Him encourage you with the Word
=> You will be fed and have more than enough to share!
Mt 14:20
Isaiah 55:10-11 NASB … For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; 11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

Grieved, feeling alone and rejected because of the Word?–Get alone with Christ–Let Him encourage you with the Word=>You will be fed and have more than enough to share! –Mt 13:21,14:20;Isa 55:10-11 #ComeBoldly
The good news is that if you face trouble because of the Word and you keep going/obeying=> your roots must be deep! #ComeBoldly #HoldFast #StandFirm

Nicodemus Study

October 20, 2018

Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people. The news about Him spread throughout all Syria. Large crowds followed him and they brought to Him all who were sick. –Mt 4:23-25
The New Birth
John 3:1-21 … 1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews; 2 this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” 3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

4 Nicodemus *said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

9 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can these things be?” 10 Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things? 11 Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know and testify of what we have seen, and you do not accept our testimony. 12 If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man[that is , the Son of Man who is in heaven.]. 14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.

16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18 He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”
