How to Persevere?

James 1:4 … Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
.

This verse led me to ask “How do you persevere”?
.
The answer seemed to be ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit’.
.
Zechariah 4:2-6 … He said to me, “What do you see?” And I said, “I am looking, and there is a lampstand{menorah} of solid gold with a bowl on top of it, and on the stand seven lamps with seven pipes to the seven lamps. Two olive trees are by it, one at the right of the bowl and the other at its left. So I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, “What are these, my lord.”?” Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.” So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts.
.
So what is this lamp stand with seven branches which are lamps filled with golden oil?
.
Judges 14:18 … “What is sweeter than honey? And what is stronger than a lion?”

7 The law of the Lord is perfect (flawless), restoring and refreshing the soul; The statutes of the Lord are reliable and trustworthy, making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true, they are righteous altogether.
10 They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them Your servant is warned [reminded, illuminated, and instructed]; In keeping them there is great reward. …
… 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable and pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my [firm, immovable] rock and my Redeemer.

As another week goes by this spring, I am reminded of the need for God’s family to PERSEVERE. How do we truly thrive as we persevere? As James 1:4 says, “Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” And in Hebrews 12:1-3, “let us fix our eyes on Jesus… and run the race with patience perseverance” And how do we overcome our present hardships, “‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord” in Zech 4:6. So, let’s make time in our day to seek the Lord’s voice through His word and prayer. Let greater intimacy with Him empower and guide you to persevere and even thrive!

Do not throw away your confident trust in the Lord Jesus-For it brings great reward. Patient endurance- #Perseverance is what is needed now. Hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering-for He who promised is FAITHFUL! Let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good works. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
