Safe Harbor

February 13, 2011

Psalm 107:25-30 He spoke and raised up a stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea. They rose up to the heavens, they went down to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away. They reeled and staggered like drunken men; they were at their wits’ end. They cried out to the Lord in their distress; He delivered them from their troubles. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. What a blessing was that stillness as He brought them safely into harbor!

When storms rage and strength and courage seem to melt away
Remember the One and Only who the wind and waves obey

He speaks! “Peace! Be Still!”Mk 4:39

A beacon of truth showing the way Jn 8:12
Rock of peace – Rock of refuge
A safe harbor to which you may continually come.

Psalm 71:3 Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; the strong place of my salvation; for You are my Rock, and my fortress(safe place).

Isaiah 26:3-4 You will keep in perfect peace, him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.

Proverbs 29:25 NIV Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.

Proverbs 29:25 BBE The fear of man is a cause of danger: but whoever puts his faith in the Lord will have a safe place on high.

Proverbs 29:25 NLT Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but to trust the LORD means safety.

Trust in the Lord means you’ll be kept in perfect peace while being led to a safe place – safe harbor. What a blessing!

Lord, thank that You can calm any storm, both those around us and those within. Thank You that as we trust You we’ll be kept in perfect peace and led to a safe place; a safe harbor in You.

The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Saviour! -Ps 18:46

Faithful and True

HALLELUJA! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for true and just are His judgments. -Rev 19:1-2

Word of God – Faithful and True
Faithful and True are You!

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. … He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. -Rev 19:11,13

Say the Word and I’ll be filled
Say the Word and I’ll be healed
Say the Word and make me whole
My heart and life I yield to You.

“Ah, Sovereign LORD, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for You. -Jere 32:17

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. -Gen 1:1-3

Hold me, mold me
Take me by the hand

Say the Word and I’ll be still -Ps 46:10
Placing all my hope in You
Held tightly in Your grasp
Waiting until
Every Word spoken is

By faith Abraham, even though he was past age—and Sarah herself was barren—was enabled to become a father because he considered Him faithful who had made the promise. And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore. -Heb 11:11-12

Word of God – Faithful and True
Faithful and True are You!

Behold, the Lord’s eye is upon those who fear Him [who revere and worship Him with awe], who wait for Him and hope in His mercy and loving-kindness, To deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. Our inner selves wait [earnestly] for the Lord; He is our Help and our Shield. For in Him does our heart rejoice, because we have trusted (relied on and been confident) in His holy name.

Let Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, be upon us, in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You. -Ps 33:18-22 AMP

John 10:10 … The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Revelations 19:11, 16 … I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. … On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Joshua 23:14 … Now behold, today I am going the way of all the earth, and you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one word of all the good words which the LORD your God spoke concerning you has failed; all have been fulfilled for you, not one of them has failed.

Luke 1:37   … For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.

Unfolding Rose

This really encouraged me!!!!! … From Almond Blossoms at the Door

Aaron’s rod, blossoms and almonds revealed
Waiting expectantly at the door
Kept thru the night before the tent of testimony
Until on the wings of dawn
Blossoms and almonds unfold
Full of life
Full of light
In the Son.

Dead Branch
A branch may appear dead while waiting ‘at the door’ thru the long dark

Take heart! For it’s at the door, laying still thru the night
That the branch is sustained by My hand,
Refreshed and renewed with the dew of My presence.
Joy is coming in the morning. With the rising Sun of Righteousness,
My servants blossom, full of light and life.
My dew sparkling like diamonds,
Still fresh appears at dawn.

Take heart!
The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. -Rom 13:12

My root is spread out to the waters, and dew lies all night on my branch. My glory is ever new with me, and my bow is renewed in my hand. -Job 29:19-20

Mark 5
35While Jesus was still speaking, some men came from the house of
Jairus, the synagogue ruler. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why
bother the teacher any more?”
36Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, “Don’t be
afraid; just believe.” …

38When they came to the home of the synagogue ruler, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. 39He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” …

41He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means,”Little girl, I say to you, ARISE!” ). 42Immediately the girl stood up and walked around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.

The stick that appears dead — is not dead at all
It’s in a state of sleep
A state of rest at the feet of the Kinsmen Redeemer -Ruth 3:8
Laying still before the door.

“Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.” -Ps 46:10

In stillness the dew forms during the night.

“In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength” … -Isa 30:15

The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever. -Isa 32:17

Be still and wait
Wait for the coming King
Wait in quietness and trust
For His words

Little one{at rest under My wing}

The words that cause ‘My Rose’ to be covered with dew and unfold during the night –>

Be still and KNOW that I am God!

Psalm 132:17    There I will make the horn of David bud; I will prepare a lamp for My Anointed.

Psalms 89:15-17    How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! O LORD, they walk in the light of Your countenance. 16In Your name they rejoice all the day, And by Your righteousness they are exalted. 17For You are the glory of their strength, And by Your favor our horn is exalted.

Romans 5 NKJV
Faith Triumphs in Trouble

1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 New Living Translation
For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

Almond Blossoms at the Door

May 30, 2010

Proverbs 8:34 Blessed is the man who listens to [08085]{hears,obeys} me, watching[08245] daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

Jeremiah 1:11-12 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see a branch of an almond[08247] tree. ” … Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching[08245]

Numbers 17:6-8 So Moses spoke to the children of Israel, and each of their leaders gave him a rod apiece, for each leader according to their fathers’ houses, twelve rods; and the rod of Aaron was among their rods. 7So Moses deposited the rods before the LORD in the tent of the testimony. 8Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses went into the tabernacle of witness, and behold, the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted and put forth buds, had produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds[08247].

The word for almond[08247] means earliest in bloom, wakeful, watchful as tho it never slept, it comes from the same word for watching[08245]. The rod of Aaron {the branch} laid in the Lord’s Presence all thru the night in the tent of the testimony. The next morning the rod the Lord had chosen had blossomed and generated the full fruit of almonds.

The one who hears, listens and obeys

Speak, for Your servant hears[08085]! -1 Sam 3:10

Watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors
Kept safe under my wings thru the night.

The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night, a prayer to the God of my life. -Ps 42:8

Wait, expectantly wait at my feet
Kept thru the night …

I wait[06960] {look,hope} for the Lord,
I expectantly wait, my soul does wait,
And in His word do I hope.
My soul waits for the Lord
More than the watchmen for the morning;
Indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning. -Ps 130:5-6

Until in the doorway on the wings of dawn
Your blossoms appear, cascading
Shining, full of the sun’s morning light.

I will sing for joy in God,
Explode in praise from deep in my soul!
He dressed me up in a suit of salvation,
He outfitted me in a robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom who puts on a tuxedo and a bride a jeweled tiara.
For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers,
And as a garden cascades with blossoms,
So the Master, God, brings righteousness into full bloom
And puts praise on display before the nations. -Isa 61:10-11 MSG

Arise Beautiful One, My Fair One
Blossom – Spread Your Wings

The Song of the Dove Rising

May 3, 2009

I’ve been feeling like I’m being tested lately. The tension of being stretched, pulled and refined is usually not pleasant. The Lord used the following to encourage me — it started with this phrase ‘A Dove on Distant Oaks’.

Psalm 56:11-13 To the tune of “A Dove on Distant Oaks.”
In God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? I am under vows to You, O God; I will present my thank offerings to You. For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.

The Song of the Dove Rising
Karen Holland … 5-1-07

The planting of the LORD
Planted by the water
Living water, flowing, teaming with life.

Oaks standing firm
Roots tested and being made strong
Oaks anchored secure in hope
The hope of Jesus, the anchor of our souls. -Heb 6:19

Do you see these oaks, these plantings of the LORD?
They are being unveiled, coming into view.
Do you see it? Do you hear the sound?
The song of a dove rises from these oaks
Growing stronger day by day.

Righteousness coming into full bloom
As the earth bursts forth with flowers in the spring
As a garden cascades with blossoms
Praise on display exploding before the nations
Let the LORD be glorified!

To comfort all who mourn
To give beauty for ashes
The oil of joy for mourning
And the garment of praise for heaviness.

Do you see it? Do you hear the sound?
The song of a dove rising from these oaks
Planted, tended by the LORD
The song of the dove rising …
… rising …

Keep looking forward, past the stretching, pulling, refining, testing. Forward to the ‘full bloom’ when the Master puts praise on display before the nations!

Isaiah 28:5   In that day the LORD Almighty will be a glorious crown, a beautiful wreath for the remnant of his people.

Isaiah 61:3, 10-11   AMP   To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion–to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit–that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul will exult in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

For as [surely as] the earth brings forth its shoots, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring forth, so [surely] the Lord God will cause rightness and justice and praise to spring forth before all the nations [through the self-fulfilling power of His word].

Fragrant Heart

April 13, 2009

Song of Solomon 1:3-4 Because of the pleasing fragrance of your good oils, Your name is purified oil poured forth; Therefore the virgins love you.
Draw me away!
We (the Beloved) will run after you.

Fragrant Heart
Karen Holland … 4-13-2009

The Word sent to dwell among us

From a broken vessel
Sweet oil poured forth
Rich, pure, strong
A perfect sacrifice –Isa 53:12
A pleasing aroma
A scent strong enough to fill the whole house. –Jn 12:3

Jesus You breathe Your fragrance on me
I breathe in deeply
My heart is stirred
Forever changed
Living waters flow.

My heart ignited, burns, pants, runs after You
Jesus draw me away!

How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD Almighty!
My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD;
my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. –Ps 84:1-2

Jesus breathe on me
Let me bask in the aroma of Christ
Fill me, saturate me with Your fragrance
The sweet fragrance of life
Until all see
You are mine and
I am Yours.

2 Corinthians 2:14-15 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.

Arise Beautiful One, My Fair One{Blossom}

April 8, 2009

During worship the image of spreading your wings while waiting on the Lord to be ‘saturated’ with His presence was impressed on me. I thought it was the eagle from Isaiah 40 — anticipating the wind to ‘soar’ BUT it was the dove!!! The image of the bride — budding, blooming spreading her wings in anticipation of the union with the bridegroom! IT IS TIME FOR LOVE, TIME TO FLY INTO HIS WAITING ARMS. 🙂

The Beloved to Her Lover:
Song 7:12  Let us rise early and go to the vineyards; Let us see whether the vine has *budded{flourished} and its blossoms have opened, and whether the pomegranates have bloomed. There I will give you my love.

*flourished – parach [06524]
a primitive root; to break forth as a bud, i.e. bloom;
generally, to spread; specifically,
to fly (as extending the
; figuratively, to flourish:-X abroad, X abundantly,
blossom, break forth (out), bud, flourish, make fly, grow,
spread, spring (up).

This is beautiful …

The Lover to His Beloved:

Song 2:13   The fig tree has ripened its figs, and the vines in blossom have given forth their fragrance. ‘Arise, my darling{love}, my beautiful{fair} one, and come away!’

The time to arise and come away
The time to be joined in love and union with the Bridegroom
The time when the flowers burst forth and appear on the earth
The blossoms flourish, opening spreading their wings
A sweet fragrance fills the air, the whole house is filled  -Jn 12:3
The time of singing has come.

Spread your wings, arise beautiful one, My fair one and come away!

Who are these who fly like a cloud,
…and like doves to their *roosts? –Isa 60:8

Who shine with the Lord’s glory? –Isa 60:1-3

My dove, you are called Hephzibah [My delight is in her]
My beautiful one you are a crown of glory
A royal diadem in My hand
As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride
So I AM rejoices over you.

O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, In the secret places of the cliff, Let me see your face, Let me hear your voice; For your voice is sweet, And your face is lovely. –Song 2:14

Spread your wings, arise beautiful one, My fair one and come away!
The time of singing has come
The time of love has come
The time to fly into the Bridegrooms waiting arms
The time of union is here.

Isaiah 62:3-5   You shall also be [so beautiful and prosperous as to be thought of as] a crown of glory and honor in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem [exceedingly beautiful] in the hand of your God. You [Judah] shall no more be termed Forsaken, nor shall your land be called Desolate any more. But you shall be called Hephzibah [My delight is in her], and your land be called Beulah [married]; for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married [owned and protected by the Lord]. For as a young man marries a virgin [O Jerusalem], so shall your sons marry you; and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.

Isaiah 60:8   Who are these who fly like a cloud, and like doves to their *roosts?

*roosts – ‘arubbah [0699]
feminine participle passive of 693 (as if for lurking); a
lattice; (by implication) a window, dove-cot (because of the
pigeon-holes), chimney (with its apertures for smoke), sluice
(with openings for water):-chimney, window.

Be Strong, Take Heart

February 9, 2009

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. –Mt 11:28

Set the LORD continually before
Enter His presence with joyful singing     –Ps 100:2
Linger at the feet of Jesus
See His great mercy and love
Taste His goodness, His fullness of joy.
   –Ps 16:8, 11
Then your strength will be renewed
With His mercy and love in view you will persevere and not faint
Only at the feet of Jesus, in His presence can you

Joyful in Hope

February 9, 2009

Job 6:11   What strength do I have, that I should still hope? What prospects, that I should be patient?

Romans 12:1   Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual act of worship.

It’s only as we enter the Lord’s presence and linger at the feet of Jesus, that we can keep His great mercy and love in view. In the Lord’s presence there are new mercies each morning; there is fullness of joy and hope. Great is His faithfulness!

Lingering at the feet of Jesus, waiting on Him, it’s here that our hope and strength are renewed. It’s only by keeping His mercy and love in view that we can persevere and not faint. Only at the feet of Jesus can we be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer.

Worship the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. –Ps 100:2

This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassion fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. ‘The LORD is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘ Therefore I hope in Him!‘ The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.”  –Lam 3:21-25

I have set the LORD continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. … You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. –Ps 16:8, 11

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” –Isa 40:31

Romans 12:12
