As iron sharpens iron
Pro 27:17
Let us stir up{stimulate} one another
Heb 10:24
Speaking the truth in love!
Eph 4:15

Take heed{pay close attention} to yourself{sin} and to the doctrine{teaching}. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. –1Tim 4:16

Word Study
From NetBible Isa 1:18

  • Come let us reason[03198]= to prove, decide, judge, rebuke, reprove, correct, be right

From NetBible Pro 27:17

  • * “sharpens the face of his friend.” The use of the word “face” (cf. KJV, ASV “countenance”) would here emphasize that it is the personality or character that is being sharpened. Constructive criticism sharpens character. Use of the wits in interaction that makes two people sharp as a razor (W. McKane, Proverbs [OTL], 615); another example, from the Talmud, is that of two students sharpening each other in the study of the Torah (b. Ta’anit 7a).

From NetBible Eph 4:14-15
We must no longer be children, tossed to and fro and blown about by every wind of doctrine, by people’s trickery, by their craftiness in deceitful scheming. 15 But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head — Christ —

  • * The Greek says: “by the trickery of men, by craftiness with the scheme of deceit.” The point is that the author is concerned about Christians growing into maturity. He is fearful that certain kinds of very cunning people, who are skilled at deceitful scheming, should come in and teach false doctrines which would in turn stunt the growth of the believers.

The Mulberry Tree

May 8, 2019

Mulberry Tree
In looking at the mustard seed – I stumbled on this — it is convicting. It’s about unforgiveness, bitterness and hurt. This is what was said in response to how many times we are to forgive:
Luke 17:5-6 Amplified Bible (AMP)
5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith [our ability to confidently trust in God and in His power].” 6 And the Lord said, “If you have [confident, abiding] faith in God [even as small] as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree [which has very strong roots], ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea’; and [if the request was in agreement with the will of God] it would have obeyed you.
Notice the speaking to the mulberry tree(unforgiveness-bitterness-hurt) —

Steps to remove unforgiveness-bitterness-hurt=the mulberry tree
1. Purpose in your heart ahead of time that you will forgive when this “tree” appears.
2. When it happens you could say something like this in your heart – Lord help me to be free of these feelings (unforgiveness-bitterness-hurt) – I know with your help – I can forgive.
3. Help me to speak gently to the one causing these feelings so our relationship can be restored in you.{this may take awhile}
4. I speak now in Jesus name tree(unforgivrness-bitterness-hurt) be removed form my heart. If the “tree” appears again at a later time – again tell it to be removed in Jesus name.
This process may not have immediate results — it may take a while for emotions to get “in line”.
Press on – don’t give up! Jesus does heal broken hearts!

Psalm 147:3 AMP … He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds [curing their pains and their sorrows].

From NetBible Ps 147:3

  • broken[07665] = shattered in pieces
  • bind[02280] = bandage, encourage, doctor, heal
  • wounds[06094] = pain, hurt, injury, sorrow, troubles

Unforgiveness-Bitterness-Hurt=the mulberry tree
=>Purpose in your heart ahead of time that you will forgive when this “tree” appears. #PraiseHim Thank You Lord-I know with Your help-I can speak to this “tree” & forgive!

Sing a New Song

May 6, 2019

A Song:
Sing, sing a new song
Breath and living water
Spirit and life
Flowing, flowing before the King
Adore Him
Bow before Him
Jesus Christ is LORD!
Psalm 40:3 Amplified Bible (AMP)
3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;
Many will see and fear [with great reverence]
And will trust confidently in the Lord.

From NetBible Ps 40:3

  • *A new song was appropriate because the Lord had intervened in the psalmist’s experience in a fresh and exciting way.

From NetBible Ps 96:1

  • * A new song is appropriate because the Lord is constantly intervening in the world as a just king in fresh and exciting ways.. See also Pss 33:3; 40:3; 98:1.

Isaiah 12:2-3 Amplified Bible (AMP)
2 “Behold, God, my salvation!
I will trust and not be afraid,
For the Lord God is my strength and song;
Yes, He has become my salvation.”
3 Therefore with joy you will draw water
From the springs of salvation.

John 6:63 Amplified Bible (AMP)
63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh conveys no benefit [it is of no account]. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life [providing eternal life].

Don’t Be Discouraged – Soar!

Isaiah 40:31 Amplified Bible (AMP)
31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power;
They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun{SON}];
They will run and not become weary,
They will walk and not grow tired.

An interesting side effect of waiting for the Lord’s answer — IF you keep trusting => is this promise to be strengthened and lifted up! 🙂

Narrow Way = Hard Pressed

April 12, 2019

1Peter 4:12-14 NASB … Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you. But to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation. 14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

Hard pressed on every side2Cor 4:8
Don’t be surprised
1Pe 4:12
Narrow is the Way
Difficult is the path
That leads to eternal life
Mt 7:14

Jn 14:6
Matthew 7:13-14 Amplified Bible (AMP)
The Narrow and Wide Gates
13 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad and easy to travel is the path that leads the way to destruction and eternal loss, and there are many who enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow and difficult to travel is the path that leads the way to [everlasting] life, and there are few who find it.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 Amplified Bible (AMP)
8 We are pressured in every way [hedged in], but not crushed; perplexed [unsure of finding a way out], but not driven to despair; 9 hunted down and persecuted, but not deserted [to stand alone]; struck down, but never destroyed …

Test – Recognize Good!

April 10, 2019

Good advice! Before you walk in “anyone’s advice” — go to the Lord and test it!

1 Samuel 17:38-39 Amplified Bible (AMP)
38 Then Saul dressed David in his garments and put a bronze helmet on his head, and put a coat of mail (armor) on him. 39 Then David fastened his sword over his armor and tried to walk, [but he could not,] because he was not used to them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot go with these, because I am not used to them.” So David took them off.
Acts 17:11 Amplified Bible (AMP)
11 Now these people were more noble and open-minded than those in Thessalonica, so they received the message [of salvation through faith in the Christ] with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.
1 Thessalonians 5:21 Amplified Bible (AMP)
21 But test all things carefully [so you can recognize what is good]. Hold firmly to that which is good.

Roaring Prowling Lion

Be firm in your faith
1Pe 5:8
Test-Prove all things  1Thess 5:21
Submit to God
Resist the Devil
And he will flee from you!Ja 4:7

1 Peter 5:8-9 Amplified Bible (AMP)
8 Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour. 9 But resist him, be firm in your faith [against his attack—rooted, established, immovable], knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being experienced by your brothers and sisters throughout the world. [You do not suffer alone.]
James 4:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
7 So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.
