Notes 1-1

From Matthew Henry Commentary
Jesus the Messiah is both the son of David and the son of Abraham.
It was promised to Abraham that Christ should descend from him, Ge 12:3; 22:18; and to David that he should descend from him, 2Sa 7:12; Ps 89:3-4, 132:11; and, therefore, unless Jesus is a son of David, and a son of Abraham, he is not the Messiah.

Jesus also fulfilled prophecies from Isaiah.

She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.” -Mt 1:21-23;Is7:14,9:6-7
