Answer to Samson’s Riddle Judge 14:18:
“What is sweeter than honey? And what is stronger than a lion?”

The Lord’s words are sweeter than honey!
How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! -Ps 119:103

The Spirit of the LORD’s empowerment is stronger than any lion
And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him(Samson), and he tore the lion apart as one would have torn apart a young goat, though he had nothing in his hand. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done. -Jdg 14:6

Jesus Came to Bring a Sword

January 11, 2015

Matthew 10:34 AMP
34 Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.

The sword of the Spirit = the Word of God divides

Luke 12:51 AMP
51 Do you suppose that I have come to give peace upon earth? No, I say to you, but rather division;

Ephesians 6:17 AMP
17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.

Hebrews 4:12 AMP
12 For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.

By the sword, the word of God, His truth
==> His people are set apart and made one{have unity}

[Jesus prays]They are not of the world (worldly, belonging to the world), [just] as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth. -Jn 17:16-17

[Jesus prays]And [now] I am no more in the world, but these are [still] in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep in Your Name [in the knowledge of Yourself] those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We [are one]. -Jn 17:11

John 18:37 AMP
37 Pilate said to Him, Then You are a King? Jesus answered, You say it! [You speak correctly!] For I am a King. [Certainly I am a King!] This is why I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the Truth. Everyone who is of the Truth [who is a friend of the Truth, who belongs to the Truth] hears and listens to My voice.

Separation from evil is necessary to have unity with the Truth!

[Jesus prays]I do not ask that You will take them out of the world, but that You will keep and protect them from the evil one. -Jn 17:15

1 John 2:3-5 AMP
3 And this is how we may discern [daily, by experience] that we are coming to know Him [to perceive, recognize, understand, and become better acquainted with Him]: if we keep (bear in mind, observe, practice) His teachings (precepts, commandments).
4 Whoever says, I know Him [I perceive, recognize, understand, and am acquainted with Him] but fails to keep and obey His commandments (teachings) is a liar, and the Truth [of the Gospel] is not in him.
5 But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him …

Let the Inhabitants of the Rock Sing

August 4, 2012

Isaiah 42:10-13 KJV … Sing unto the Lord a new song, and His praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
11  Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
12 Let them give glory unto the Lord, and declare His praise in the islands.
13 The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man, He shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: He shall cry, yea, roar; He shall prevail against His enemies.

Let the inhabitants of the Rock sing!

The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Saviour! -Ps18:46;2Sam22:47

I waited patiently for the LORD; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD. -Ps40:1-3

The King’s Sword

January 28, 2012

The King’s sword discerns and separates good from evil.
The King’s sword executes judgement.

The King’s sword is discernment, knowledge and wisdom
—> knowledge of God’s Word, and wisdom to apply it.

-1Ki 3:9,24;2Chron 1:10;Ps 149:6-9;Heb 4:12

The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine through the land—
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water.

—> a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. -Amos 8:11

What is deception?
Isn’t it believing a lie because the truth is not perceived – intelligently heard?

Why is there a shortage of ears to hear the words of the Lord{truth}?

We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you have become dull of hearing. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. -Heb 5:11-14

Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. -Mt 22:29

There is no shortage of bread{truth} —>solid food.

Ears are dull from drinking only milk
From thirsting for water{spirit} without eating solid food.

Dull ears do not know how to use the King’s sword
They are unable to distinguish good from evil or discern truth
They are unable to test the spirits.
-1Jn 4:1

People will stagger from sea to sea And from the north even to the east; They will go to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, But they will not find it. -Amos 8:12
