Pitch a Tent and Dwell in Hope

December 14, 2019

Acts 2:25-28 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
25 For David says in regard to Him, I saw the Lord constantly before me, for He is at my right hand that I may not be shaken or overthrown or cast down [from my secure and happy state].
26 Therefore my heart rejoiced and my tongue exulted exceedingly; moreover, my flesh also will dwell in hope [will encamp, pitch its tent, and dwell in hope in anticipation of the resurrection].
27 For You will not abandon my soul, leaving it helpless in Hades (the state of departed spirits), nor let Your Holy One know decay or see destruction [of the body after death].
28 You have made known to me the ways of life; You will enrapture me [diffusing my soul with joy] with and in Your presence.

From NetBible Acts 2:26
NASB … Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will live in hope
.
NKJV … Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope.

    – figuratively, to remain: lodge, rest

14 Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.

.
John 16:33 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
33 I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. Ephesians 6:10-11Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

Stand Firm
Stand Strong
Be strong in the Lord
In the power of His might –Eph 6:10
Put on the full armor of God –Eph 6:11
Be of good cheer – have courage –Mt 14:27
Able to do all things through Christ
Who gives strength –Phil 4:13
The Lord your God is with you

Ephesians 6:10-11 Amplified Bible (AMP)
The Armor of God
10 In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. 11 Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.

Deuteronomy 31:6,8 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
6 Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you. …
… 8 It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; [let there be no cowardice or flinching, but] fear not, neither become broken [in spirit—depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm].

Strength to Fight

July 13, 2019

Psalm 18:31-34For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? 32 It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect. 33 He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on my high places. 34 He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
.

It is the Lord who arms with strength to fight –
He goes before to prepare the way
He will be with you
He does not leave you to fight the battle alone!

.
Deuteronomy 31:6,8 Amplified Bible (AMP)
6 Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble in dread before them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not fail you or abandon you. …
… 8 It is the Lord who goes before you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

.

God will have no strength used in his battles but the strength which he himself imparts. Are you mourning over your own weakness? Take courage, for there must be a consciousness of weakness before the Lord will give thee victory. Your emptiness is but the preparation for your being filled, and your casting down is but the making ready for your lifting up.
