Our Passover Lamb

May 1, 2014

1 Peter 1:18-19, 22-23 NLT … For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom He paid was not mere gold or silver. 19 It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. …
… 22 You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth{through the Holy Spirit}, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart. 23 For you have been born again{spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose}, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.

1 Corinthians 5:7 NLT … Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.
.

Christ, our spotless Passover Lamb is pure and holy. The ransom paid by His precious blood!
.
The Lord’s goal in giving us His Word is not to restrict or cramp our style, but to make us pure and holy. By obediently applying His word to our lives through the Holy Spirit we are transformed to become more and more like Jesus.

.
Isaiah 53:5 NKJV … He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

By His Wounds

Healed By His Stripes

July 27, 2013

The Living Word poured out
From hands and feet
Nailed to the cross.

His grace and truth -Jn1:14
A healing balm pours forth -Ps107:20
Over my wounds, my soul.

By His stripes …

By the stripes of Jesus Christ my LORD
I am healed
Made whole.

Isaiah 53:4-5 AMP
Surely He has borne our griefs[02483] (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains[04341] [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed[07495] and made whole.

From NetBible Isa 53:4-5

  • griefs[02483] = sickness, disease, illness
  • pain[04341] = physical/mental suffering/wounds, sorrow
  • healed[07495] = to mend, repair, make whole, to cure(physician/healer)

From NetBible Mat 8:8,16-17
But the centurion replied to Him[Jesus], Lord, I am not worthy or fit to have You come under my roof; but only speak the word, and my servant boy will be cured[2390]. … When evening came, they brought to Him many who were under the power of demons, and He drove out the spirits with a word and restored to health2323] all who were sick[2560]. And thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities[769] and bore away our diseases[3554].

  • cured[2390] = healed, made whole, free from sin
  • restored to health[2323] = healed, cured, relieved disease
  • sick[2560] = (physically or morally) ill, diseased
  • infirmities[769] = weakness, feebleness (of mind or body)
  • diseases[3554] = sickness, infirmity, illness

Proverbs 4:20-22 NLT
My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing[04832] to their whole body.

From NetBible Prov 4:22

  • healing[04832] = medicine, cure(physician), sound mind, deliverance
    *from [07495]
Quote Nigel Mumford:
“The Word” is a medication to your soul. “The Word” is a balm of healing grace poured over the wounds of life. Just say “The Word” Lord …

Jeremiah 8:22 AMP
Is there no balm[06875] in Gilead? Is there no physician[07495] there? Why then is not the health[0724] of the daughter of my people restored? [Because Zion no longer enjoyed the presence of the Great Physician!]

From NetBible Jer 8:22

  • balm[06875] = a kind of balsam, salve, medicinal ointment
  • physician[07495] = to mend, repair, make whole, to cure(physician/healer)
  • health[0724] = restore to soundness, make whole, heal the wounds

*The prophet means by this metaphor that there are still means available for healing the spiritual ills of his people, mainly repentance, obedience to the law, and sole allegiance to God, and still people available who will apply this medicine to them, namely prophets like himself.

*Jeremiah is lamenting that though there is a remedy available for the recovery of his people they have not availed themselves of it.

I AM the LORD who Heals

October 10, 2012

James 5:15-16 AMP … And the prayer [that is] of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will restore him; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

Psalm 46:1 … God is our refuge and strength, a very ever-present help in trouble!

This morning the Lord really encouraged me! I received a praise report from my Prayer Mail group. A testimony from someone who’s son was in the ER about a month ago with kidney failure – today his kidneys are functioning normal. Praise the LORD! It is a testimony not only that the Lord heals today but also that He is a VERY ever-present help! We need only to come to Him for ourselves or for the sick person who needs healing.

When we confess we are forgiven, we are purified from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9) making our prayers for healing powerful and dynamic in working{present}.

I took an in depth look at the above verses. The Lord encouraged me even more. May you also be encouraged by this testimony and the word study included below.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is still the Lord who heals and IS a VERY ever-present help!
🙂

Word StudyFrom NetBible Ja 5:15

  • save[4982] = to keep safe or rescue
    * to save a suffering one (from perishing), i.e. one suffering from disease, to make well, heal, restore to health
  • restore[1453] = to arouse from the sleep of death to life
    *to cause to rise up as from a bed{a sick bed}

From NetBible Ja 5:16

  • healed[2390] = to cure, make whole

Exodus 15:26 … If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.

Isaiah 53:4-5 … Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.

Jesus Christ our Lord, our healer, heals both physical and mental pain! By His stripes we are healed and made whole. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever! -Heb 13:5

Just Say the Word!

February 12, 2012

Psalm 107:20 … He sent forth His word and healed them …

Matthew 8:8,16-17
… The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. … … When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”

Isaiah 53:5He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

Just say the word, Lord, and I’ll be healed.

Jesus, Living Word of God
By Your stripes
Nothing too hard or
Impossible to fulfill
Faithful and True are You!

Just say the word, Lord, fill my soul
and make me whole.

Luke 1:37 AMP … For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.
