The King of Glory rides on the Clouds

September 23, 2018

Psalm 24:7-10 NASB … Lift up your heads, O gates,
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
That the King of glory may come in!
8 Who is the King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O gates,
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
That the King of glory may come in!
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah.

7 O God, when You went out before Your people{in battle}, when You marched through the wilderness, 8 The earth shook; The heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God; Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel. 9 You, O God, sent a plentiful rain, whereby You confirmed Your inheritance, when it was weary. 10 Your congregation dwelt in it …

From NetBible Ps 68:7

  • went forth before Your people = lead your people into battle –Jdg 4:14
  • * marched through the wilderness{desert} = describes how the God of Sinai marched across the desert regions to do battle with Sisera and his Canaanite army –Jdg 5:4

From NetBible Ps 68:8Jdg 5:4

  • heavens/clouds dropped/dripped[05197] = prophesy, preach, discourse by inspiration
  • * tells how the God of Sinai came in the storm and annihilated the Canaanite forces led by Sisera. The presence of allusion does not mean, however, that this is a purely historical reference. The psalmist is describing God’s typical appearance as a warrior in terms of his prior self-revelation as ancient events are reactualized in the psalmist’s experience.

Sing to YAH Who Rides upon the Clouds!

November 2, 2015

Psalm 68:1-4 AMP … Let God arise, and His enemies be scattered; Let those who hate Him flee before Him. 2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; as wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked and guilty perish before [the presence of] God. 3 But let the [uncompromisingly] righteous be glad; let them be in high spirits and glory before God, yes, let them [jubilantly] rejoice! 4 Sing to God, sing praises to His name, cast up a highway for Him Who rides through the deserts{clouds/heavens}—His name is the Lord{YAH}—be in high spirits and glory before Him!

A Song:
HalleluYAH!  HalleluYAH!  HalleluYAH! –Ps 148:1
Sing to  YAH!  Sing to Yah who rides upon the clouds –Jdg 5:4
The Lord is His name – His glory proclaim –Ps 68:34-35, Jdg 5:12
HalleluYAH!  HalleluYAH!  HalleluYAH!
Sing to  YAH!  Sing to Yah who rides upon the clouds
He rains/reigns!  He rains/reigns!  He rains/reigns!
HalleluYAH!  HalleluYAH!  HalleluYAH! Ps 146:10
He rains/reigns! –Ps 68:8, Jdg 5:4

Singing praises, rejoicing and extolling the Lord – is like casting up a highway – inviting Him into the battle. He will ride upon the “clouds” and cause them to drip rain(prophesy). In His presence prophecy happens – how to achieve victory is prophesied and the battle is fought in heaven before it is fought on earth. His reign – victory is seen in heaven before it actually happens on earth. In Psalm 68 and Judges 5(Deborah) the rain brings instructions on how to fight and win the battle! Also note how the singing/extolling/acknowledgement of the Lord as King(submitting to His rule) brings the rain/reign of victory to earth! –Jdg 5:20-21

=>Singing Hallelu YAH is a call for the Lord to shine forth(rise like the dawn) in power and victory on behalf of His people!
