Sparrow Ever Praising

March 18, 2016

Psalm 84:3-5 AMPC … Yes, the sparrow has found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young—even Your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God. 4 Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are those who dwell in Your house and Your presence; they will be singing Your praises all the day long. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

5 Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whose strength is in You, in whose heart are the highways to Zion.

The sparrow ever praising
Has found a home
Before the throne of God
Anointed with the oil of joy –
Isa 61:3
Ever praising
Ever strong –
Neh 8:10
Blessed with an everlasting song
Singing to awake the dawn
Joy an everlasting crown! –
Isa 35:10

Psalm 57:7-11 AMPC … 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is steadfast and confident! I will sing and make melody.
8 Awake, my glory (my inner self); awake, harp and lyre! I will awake right early [I will awaken the dawn]!
9 I will praise and give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to You among the nations.
10 For Your mercy and loving-kindness are great, reaching to the heavens, and Your truth and faithfulness to the clouds.
11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be over all the earth.

Sparrow’s Song

March 16, 2016

Matthew 10:29-31 NIV … Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

In the Father’s care
Held
In His hand
In His gaze
Ever before His face
His eye is on the sparrow
Upheld in His mercy and grace.

In the Father’s care
The sparrow never fears and
Always has a song …

Psalm 84:3-5 AMPC … Yes, the sparrow has found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young—even Your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God. 4 Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are those who dwell in Your house and Your presence; they will be singing Your praises all the day long. Joyful Tree Bloom

September 7, 2014

Psalm 84:4-5,10 AMP
4 Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are those who dwell in Your house and Your presence; they will be singing Your praises all the day long. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
5 Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whose strength is in You, in whose heart are the highways to Zion.

10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]; I would rather be a doorkeeper and stand at the threshold in the house of my God than to dwell [at ease] in the tents of wickedness.

Joyful Tree Bloom

Joyful tree planted in the courts of the Lord
Ever praising
Ever green
Ever fresh
Anointed with fresh oil
Ever new
The oil of joy
Before the throne of God
Before the Lamb
Living waters flow.

Joyful tree bloom
An everlasting joy
An everlasting love
An everlasting sign

An everlasting song.
-Isa 55:12-13, 56:5;Isa 61:1-3,10-11;Rev 3:7-13;Ps 84:10;Rev 7:17, 22:1-3

Psalm 92:12-15 AMP
12 The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible].
13 Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 [Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment].
15 [They are living memorials] to show that the Lord is upright and faithful to His promises; He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

Better is One Day!

May 28, 2014

Psalm 84:1-4, 10 NV
1 How lovely is your dwelling place,
Lord Almighty!
2 My soul yearns, even faints,
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God.
3 Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may have her young—
a place near your altar,
Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you.

10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

“Better Is One Day”
Matt Redman

How lovely is Your dwelling place,
Oh Lord Almighty
My soul longs and even faints for You
For here my heart is satisfied,
within Your presence
I sing beneath the shadow of Your wings

Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere

One thing I ask and I would seek,
to see Your beauty
To find You in the place Your glory dwells

My heart and flesh cry out,
For You the living God
Your spirit’s water for my soul
I’ve tasted and I’ve seen,
Come once again to me
I will draw near to You
I will draw near to You

Psalm 63:2-5,7 NIV
2 I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
3 Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
4 I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.
5 I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

7 Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings.

Psalm 27:4-6 NIV
4 One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
5 For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock.
6 Then my head will be exalted
above the enemies who surround me;
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the Lord.

One Thing I Ask

As the Deer

September 9, 2013

Psalm 42:1-2As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

From NetBible Ps 42:1-2

  • The psalmist recalls how he once worshiped in the Lord’s temple, but laments that he is now oppressed by enemies in a foreign land.
  • pants[06165](with thirst)= to long for, to cry for
  • thirsts[06770] = parched, suffer dryness
*A future thirst is coming due to the lack of hearing …
“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord GOD, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the LORD. -Amos 8:11
  • “When can i go meet with God?” = When will I go and appear [to] the face of God- in His presence?

As the deer pants for the streams, O Lord
So my soul pants for You
How lovely is Your dwelling place, O LORD Almighty
My soul yearns, even faints for Your courts
My heart and my flesh cry out for You, the living God
O to sing for joy before my King Jesus!

How blessed are those who dwell in Your house! They are ever praising You. -Ps84:4

Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere! -Ps84:10

As the deer, O LORD, my soul longs
Even faints for Your courts
O to dwell in the joy of Your presence -Ps 16:11,21:6,43:3-5,46:4
I long to be ever praising You
Jesus my King!
-Ps84

Psalm 43:3-5 NASB
3 O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me;
Let them bring me to Your holy hill
And to Your dwelling places.
4 Then I will go to the altar of God,
To God my exceeding joy;
And upon the lyre(harp) I shall praise You, O God, my God.
5 Why are you in despair, O my soul?
And why are you disturbed within me?
Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.

The Sparrow’s Home

May 1, 2012

[BRIDE] I am the rose of Sharon, a [humble] lily of the valleys [that grows in deep and difficult places]. -Song 2:1

Pressed lily in the valley, hard pressed on every side -2 Co 4:7-9
I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears
Each of your tears is a precious gem.
-Ps 56:8

I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the LORD. -2Ki 20:5

Ever praising, your prayers are a sweet incense set before Me
The lifting up of you hands as the evening sacrifice. -Ps 141:2

You will pass thru this valley of weeping
Making it a place of springs
Your tears become pools of blessings
For the sparrow, ever praising
Has a home near the altars of the King,
The LORD God Almighty.
-Ps 84:3-4,6

Pressed lily in the valley
A perfect rose, a sweet incense that forever speaks:
I am His and He is mine.

Perfected Praise Awaits in Zion

July 22, 2011

Psalm 65:1
NASB … There will be silence before You, and praise in Zion, O God, And to You the vow will be performed.

Young’s … To Thee, silence — praise, O God, is in Zion, And to Thee is a vow completed.

Does this mean praise is silent? Or silence is praise?

No, rather it refers to a state where heart has made itself ready, it is still, in a state of expectant peace, at rest – where nothing would meet it’s needs but praise full of the expression of God’s goodness and majesty.

Psalm 76:2 His tabernacle is in Salem; His dwelling place also is in Zion.

In Zion praise is perfected; arising from perfect peace and rest in the Lord.

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth. -Ps 50:2

How blessed are those who dwell in Your house! They are ever praising You. Selah. How blessed is the man whose strength is in You, in whose heart are the highways to Zion! When they walk through the Valley of (Baca)Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs, where pools of blessing collect after the rains! They go from strength to strength, Every one of them appears before God in Zion. -Ps 84:4-7

Oh Lord, give us a longing, a yearning for Your courts. Let our hearts be highways of praise that lead straight into the refreshing of Your presence, Your beauty. Let this fullnees of joy in Your presence be our strength, allowing pools of blessings to collect, resfreshing us as well as others.

.

Word Study

From NetBible Ps 65:1
*It would be wrong to keep silence when praise is due, so praise awaits(befits) God in Zion

  • There will be silence[01747] = still waiting, expectation
  • Zion[06726] = parched place
  • vow[05088] = offering
  • performed[07999] = to be in a covenant of peace, be at peace

From Ps 65:1 Commentary

  • Barnes’ Notes
“Praise is silent.” The Hebrew is, “To thee is silence-praise,” – a kind of compound phrase, not meaning “silent praise,” but referring to a condition where everything is ready; where the preparations have been entirely made; where the noise usually attendant on preparation has ceased, and all is in readiness as if waiting for that for which the arrangements had been carried forward. The noise of building – of preparation – was now hushed, and all was calm. The language here would also denote the state of feeling in an individual or an assembly, when the heart was prepared for praise; when it was filled with a deep sense of the majesty and goodness of God; when all feelings of anxiety were calmed down, or were in a state of rest; when the soul was ready to burst forth in expressions of thanksgiving, and nothing would meet its needs but praise.
  • Gill’s Exposition
Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion,…. Who dwells in Sion, as Jarchi interprets it; and so the Targum; whose Shechinah, or glorious Majesty, is in Sion; see Psalm 76:2; … the saints are continually praising the Lord here, giving thanks to him always for all things, Psalm 84:4; some render the words “praise is silent for thee” (e); because there is no end of it, as Jarchi observes; or, because of the greatness of the works of the Lord, praise cannot reach him, as Ben Melech expresses it. The greatest shouts, and loudest acclamations of praise, are but silence in comparison of what ought, if it could be expressed, on account of the nature, perfections, and works of God.
  • Matthew Henry
All the praise the Lord receives from this earth is from Zion, being the fruit of the Spirit of Christ, and acceptable through him. Praise is silent unto thee, as wanting words to express the great goodness of God.

From NetBible Ps 76:2

  • Salem[08004] = peace
the place of which Melchizedek was king
Melchizedek[04442] = King of right, righteousness
    see [08003] = made ready, peaceable, perfect(-ed)
  • tabernacle[05520] = protective covering, sacred place of worship
  • dwelling place[04585] = habitation, refuge – resting place
  • Zion[06726] = parched place
