Christ’s Strength and Power Pitches a Tent!

December 17, 2019

.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
9 But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!
10 So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak [in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful in divine strength).

From NetBible 2Cor 12:9
And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

  • rest/dwell[1981] = to fix a tent or habitation on
    – to take possession of and live in the houses of the citizens
    – of the power of Christ descending upon one, working within him and giving him help
    .
From [4637] = to fix one’s tabernacle, have one’s tabernacle, abide (or live) in – to dwell: to tent or encamp, i.e. (figuratively) to occupy (as a mansion) or (specially), to reside (as God did in the Tabernacle of old, a symbol of protection and communion)

=>The strength and power of Christ pitches a tent over and rests/dwells upon the one who is utterly dependent upon Him!

Jesus You are my hiding place
I will trust in You

Your right hand upholds me
Because Your love is better than life
My lips will praise You!

Sing A New Song{Prepare Him a habitation}

Sing A New Song

February 8, 2012

Song:
Sing, sing a new song
To Him who is worthy

Sing, sing a new song
To the Lamb

Living water
Midst the springs of living water
He stands

Sing, sing a new song
Sing, sing a new song
Worthy is the Lamb!

Sing, sing a new song
The song of the Lamb.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High. -Ps 46:4

Here midst the streams of living water
Stands the Lamb
The Lamb leads to springs of living water
The Lambs stands enthroned
-Rev 5:6;Ps 22:3
Worthy is the Lamb!
-Rev 5:9-14

… the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; He will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. -Rev 7:17

The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my God, and and I will prepare Him a habitation; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him. -Ex 15:2

The Lord gave me this song and scripture. Ponder these and see where He leads!

He led me to look at Psalm 22:3 – the Lord is actually enthroned on the praise of His people. Rev 5:6 — the Lamb stands at the center of the throne. Exodus 15:2 – prepare Him a habitation actually means to celebrate Him in praise — the praises of His people actually adorn and beautify Him! Worthy is the Lamb! Jesus Christ our LORD!

Under His Wings

An Everlasting Song

April 24, 2010

Quote from Spurgeon’s Evening Devotional for August 28

“Sing, O barren.” -Isaiah 54:1

But what can I sing about? I cannot talk about the present, and even the past looks full of barrenness. Ah! I can sing of Jesus Christ. … Come, my soul, heavy laden thou wast once, and thou didst lose thy burden there. Go to Calvary again. Perhaps that very cross which gave thee life may give thee fruitfulness. What is my barrenness? It is the platform for his fruit-creating power. What is my desolation? It is the black setting for the sapphire of his everlasting love. I will go in poverty, I will go in helplessness, I will go in all my shame and backsliding, I will tell him that I am still his child, and in confidence in his faithful heart, even I, the barren one, will sing and cry aloud.

Psalm 30:5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

Joy after weeping in tears
Morning light breaking thru the darkest night.

Sing, O, barren, sing
There is a song that never dies
A crown of everlasting joy and delight.

The desert will rejoice and blossom, as the rose
Barrenness a platform for His fruit creating power
Desolation the black-setting for the sapphire of His everlasting love.

Sing, O, barren sing
The song that never dies.

Jesus your strength
Your song
Your everlasting delight.

His praise endures forever –Ps 111:10
His word forever settled in heaven –Ps 119:89

An everlasting song of praise to awake the dawn
… and vanquish the night.

Isaiah 35:1,8,10 The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose … And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it. … and the ransomed of the LORD will return{in this Way}. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Isaiah 54:1,11 Sing, O barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labour; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the LORD. … O you afflicted one, Tossed with tempest, and not comforted, Behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems, And lay your foundations with sapphires.

Exodus 15:2 The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise{beautify, adorn with praise} Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.

Psalm 57:7-9 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and give praise.
Awake, my glory! Awake, lute and harp! I will awaken the dawn.
I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing to You among the nations.
