God’s Provision

February 7, 2014

Hebrews 11:1 NKJV … Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Trust in the Lord’s provision
Lift up your eyes and look expectantly for it.

Psalm 145:15-16 NKJV … The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

Psalm 145:15 AMP … The eyes of all wait for You [looking, watching, and expecting] and You give them their food in due season.

Psalm 145:16 NLT … When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.

Ps145_16

Trust in the Lord
The Lord’s hand opens to those who expectantly wait on Him
And they are filled/satisfied with good things.

Psalm 104:27-28 AMP … These all wait and are dependent upon You, that You may give them their food in due season. 28 When You give it to them, they gather it up; You open Your hand, and they are filled with good things.

Psalm 104:28 NIV … When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.

Forget not all His benefits

Psalm 103:1-5 AMP
1 Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul; and all that is [deepest] within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits—
3 Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from the pit and corruption, Who beautifies, dignifies, and crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercy;
5 Who satisfies your mouth [your necessity and desire at your personal age and situation] with good so that your youth, renewed, is like the eagle’s [strong, overcoming, soaring]!

Trust in the Lord
Wait on, expect, look for and hope in Him
His hand will open
And you will be filled/satisfied with good things
So that your strength will be renewed
Like the eagles – strong, overcoming, soaring!

Isaiah 40:31 AMP … But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

O satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days! -Ps 90:14

In Your Lovingkindness Wrap Me

July 9, 2011

Psalm 31:16 NASB … Make Your face to shine upon Your servant; Save me in Your lovingkindness.

Save me in Your lovingkindness. This line made me think of being wrapped in His lovingkindness, His mercy, His unfailing love as with a warm blanket. When I was little I had a pink blanket that I always carried around. I would wrap it around me if I was scared or afraid. It provided warmth and comfort; a place of safety. Just thinking of it makes me smile. The Lord is like this!

Psalm 103:2-5Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits—

  • who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
  • who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion,
  • who wraps you in goodness so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

Wrap yourself in His lovingkindness(tender mercy, deep affection),
forget not all His benefits-
and trust in Him.
This is your shield, your protection and your crown!

Psalm 5:11-12 But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You. For surely, O LORD, You bless the righteous; You surround them with Your favour as with a shield.

When I looked up what shield means, this prayer made me smile even more. It means to be guarded by prickliness – the opposite of a warm blanket! To His people His shield of lovingkindness is warm and safe but to enemies the shield pierces and guards with prickliness like a barb.
