Genesis 22:14And Abraham called the name of the place, The–LORD–Will–Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of The LORD it shall be provided.”

From NetBible Gen 22:14

  • The–LORD–Will–Provide[03070] = Jehovah-jireh = “Jehovah sees”
*from [03068] and [07200]; Jehovah will see (to it) => the Lord sees and provides for the necessities of His servants
    * a symbolical name for Mount Moriah => Here Solomon’s temple was built, on the spot that had been the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite (2 Sam. 24:24, 252 Chr. 3:1
=>”Mount Moriah” of the Chronicles is identical with the “mountain” in “the land of Moriah” of Genesis, and that the spot on which Jehovah appeared to David, and on which the temple was built, was the very spot of the sacrifice of Isaac.
=> now covered by “Dome of the Rock”

Valiant Hand

April 4, 2016

Psalm 118:14-17 AMPC …  The Lord is my Strength and Song; and He has become my Salvation. 15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation{deliverance} is in the tents{tabernacles} and private dwellings of the [uncompromisingly] righteous: the right hand of the Lord does valiantly and achieves strength! 16 The right hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord does valiantly and achieves strength! 17 I shall not die but live, and shall declare the works and recount the illustrious acts of the Lord.

Lift up your voice and praise the Lord with
… A voice of rejoicing
… A voice of triumph
… A celebration of victory
… Songs of joy
For the Lord your strength and song
He is the great King over all the earth.

Lift up your voice and SEE
… The King of glory –Ps 24:7
… Strong & mighty in battle –Ps 24:8
… The Lord of hosts –Ps 24:10
… His right hand exalted
… Lifted high in victory
His right hand does valiantly.

SEE the triumph in your praise!
In the mountain of the Lord
It is provided{seen} –
Gen 22:14

Psalm 47:1-2 AMPC … O clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph[07440] and songs of joy! 2 For the Lord Most High excites terror, awe, and dread; He is a great King over all the earth.

Psalm 106:47 NKJV … Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and (glory) triumph in your praise.

From NetBible Ps 118:16

  • *Right hand of the Lord exalted = lifted high in victory

From NetBible Ps 47:2

Write the Vision

November 28, 2015

Habakkuk 2:1-3 NASB … I will stand on my guard post
And station myself on the rampart;
And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me,
And how I may reply when I am reproved.

From NetBible Hab 2:1

guard post[04931] = a place to watch, observe
rampart[04692] = strong tower/ fortress, a place hemmed in
keep watch[06822] = wait expectantly, look up

2 Then the Lord answered me and said,
“Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets,
That the one who reads it may run.

From NetBible Hab 2:2

record[03789] = write
inscribe[0874] = make it plain/clear
may run = *run [through it quickly with one’s eyes]
=> so it can be read easily

3 “For the vision is yet for the appointed time;
It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
For it will certainly come, it will not delay.

Need a specific vision or guidance from the Lord?

  1. Set aside a time of prayer/worship each day to meet with the Lord in the secret place
  2. Ask the Lord to hem you in and lay His hand upon you

Psalm 139:5 NIV … You hem me in—behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.

Ezekiel 40:1-2 NASB … In the twenty-fifth year of our exile, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth of the month, in the fourteenth year after the city was taken, on that same day the hand of the LORD was upon me and He brought me there. 2 In the visions of God He brought me into the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain, and on it to the south there was a structure like a city.

    From NetBible Ezek 40:1

    • *Hand upon in the OT can refer metaphorically to power, authority, or influence. In Ezekiel God’s hand being on the prophet is regularly associated with communication or a vision from God
      =>Ezekiel 1:1-3; 3:12-14, 22; 8:1; 37:1; 40:1
  3. Expectantly wait in worship for the Lord’s answer
Look up! => Keep thanking the Lord for what He is doing in your life
  4. Write what the Lord shows you so it can be easily read
  5. Keep the vision where you can easily read it
  6. Ask and trust that the Lord will send others to help accomplish the vision – trust His provision for His vision
  7. Be faithful to take the next step in accomplishing the vision when it is presented by the Lord

On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided!

From NetBible Gen 22:14

  • provided[07200] = seen, looked at, perceived, have vision

Eyes to See

January 22, 2012

Pray for eyes to see My provision.

I know it’s dark and that
There are obstacles that can not be moved in your own strength
Trust Me to roll away the stone.

Trust Me and look up
Lift up your eyes.

When they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away. -Mk 16:4

Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off. Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey, and I and the lad will go over there; and we will worship and return to you.” …

… Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. And Abraham called the name of the place, The–LORD–Will–Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of The LORD it shall be provided{seen}.” -Gen 22:4-5, 13-14

Open the eyes of our hearts LORD!

Ephesians 1:17-19 … I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you spiritual wisdom and revelation in your growing knowledge of him, – since the eyes of your heart have been enlightened – so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the incomparable greatness of his power toward us who believe, as displayed in the exercise of his immense strength.

I WILL lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]–From whence shall my help come? -Ps 121:1

I will lift up my eyes to where the LORD is enthroned
… to where the LORD dwells -Ps 132:13-14; Ps 9:11

… to the hills -Song 4:6
… the mountain of Mor – myrrh, the hill of frankincense

For in the mount of the LORD it will be provided{seen} -Gen 22:2,14

To You I lift up{marry} my eyes, O You who are enthroned in the heavens! Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters; As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress; So our eyes look to the LORD our God, until He has mercy on us. -Ps 123:1-2

The Lover to His Beloved:
You who dwell in the gardens with friends in attendance, let Me hear your voice! -Song 8:13

O My dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the cliff(stairs), let Me see your face, let Me hear your voice; For your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely. -Song 2;14

The Beloved to Her Lover:
Make haste, my beloved, and be like a gazelle or a young stag on the mountains of spices. -Song 8:14

He who answered Abraham our father on Mount Moriah, He shall answer you, and hear the voice of your cry this day.

Why is it called Moriah? Because of the good Mor (=myrrh) that is there.

Moriah: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moriah
Myrrh: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myrrh

The Lover to His Beloved:
Until the day breaks and the shadows flee, I will go to the mountain of
myrrh and to the hill of incense. -Song 4:6

Come Up into the Mount of the LORD

November 28, 2009

Genesis 22:14    Abraham called the name of the place, The–LORD–Will–Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of The LORD it shall be provided.”

Are you in need of strength today? Maybe your heart is broken over what seems to be an impossible promise from the LORD. What if the LORD has asked you to do something which appears to negate this promise? Where would you find the strength to obey? What do you do when it feels like your heart has been broken beyond repair?

Abraham must have found himself in this place when the Lord asked him to sacrifice Isaac in Genesis 22:1-14

The following really encouraged me! Look what Abraham does before he goes to sacrifice Isaac.

Genesis 22:4-5    On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place{ Mt. Moriah} from a distance. Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey, and I and the lad will go over there; and we will worship and return to you.”

From: NetBible Gen 22:5

worship — shachah [07812] — proskuneo [4352]

to do reverence to, to adore, to pay homage to

Today if you need strength, lift up your eyes to the King
Come up into the mount of the Lord thru worship
Come before His presence with singing!

Follow the Lamb to springs of living water
Drink in His mercy and grace
He will wipe away every tear …

for “In the Mount of The LORD it shall be provided{seen}. -Gen 24:14”

***

Revelation 7:17    For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; He will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Psalm 121:1-2 AMP    I WILL lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]–From whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 123:1-2 AMP   To You I lift up my eyes, O You who are enthroned in the heavens! Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters; As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress; So our eyes look to the LORD our God, until He has mercy on us.

Hebrews 4:16 AMP    Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].

Psalm 100:2-3 AMP    Serve the Lord with gladness! Come before His presence with singing! Know (perceive, recognize, and understand with approval) that the Lord is God!

LORD OF THE MOUNTAIN
LORD OF THE SEA
LORD OF THE STARRY NIGHT
GLORIOUS MYSTERY

LORD OF THE AGES
SON WHO WAS RAISED
HEAVEN DECLARES YOUR JOY
FOREVER YOU’LL BE PRAISED

I will go up, to the mountain of the Lord
Drink of the spring, from the Saviour of my soul
Come let us bow, to our Maker and our God
Cling to the cleft, of our refuge and our rock

Chorus:

I will go up, to the mountain of the Lord
Find wings again, on the eagle of His word
Come let us fly, to the glory of the Son
Stand on the rock, resting on the work He’s done
