From NetBible Zep 3:17

  • save[03467] = to save, to be liberated, to give victory to
*from a primitive root, Greek [5614] = hosanna
  • He will quiet you[02790] = make silent, give rest
    * “he causes [you] to be silent by his love,” that is, “he soothes [you] by his love.” The present translation follows the LXX and assumes an original reading יְחַדֵּשׁ (yÿkhaddesh, “he renews”) with ellipsis of the object (“you”).

.
From NetBible Ps 37:7
Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.

  • fret[02734] = to burn, kindle, to be angry

=>Resting in the Lord is linked with waiting patiently with NO fretting!

Isaiah 4:5-6 AMP … And the Lord will create over the whole site, over every dwelling place of Mount Zion and over her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory shall be a canopy (a defense of divine love and protection). And there shall be a pavilion[tabernacle] for shade in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge and a shelter from storm and from rain.

From NetBible Isa 4:5-6

  • dwelling place[04349] = established place, habitation
  • canopy[02646] = divine protection, defense
=>”over all the glory, a canopy.” This may allude to Exod 40:34-35, where a cloud overshadows the meeting tent as it is filled with God’s glory.
  • pavilion[05521] =tabernacle, booth
  • shade[06738] = shadow, protection, defense

Psalm 91:1-2, 4 AMP
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”
… He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

From NetBible Ps 91:1

  • dwells[03427] = abides, remains, have one’s abode, to marry (give a dwelling to)
  • shelter[05643] = covering, hiding place, secret place
  • rest[03885] = abide, dwell, lodge{all night}
  • shadow[06738] = shade, protection, defense
  • *  In this psalm an individual (perhaps a priest) addresses one who has sought shelter in the Lord and assures him that God will protect him from danger (vv. 1-13). In vv. 14-16 God himself promises to keep his loyal follower safe.
  • * The Lord is compared here to a bird who protects its young under the shadow of its wings (see v. 4).
  • *  The divine name used here is “Shaddai” (שַׁדַּיshadday; see also Ps 68:14). Shaddai (or El Shaddai) is the mighty king (sovereign judge) of the world who grants life/blesses and kills/judges. In Genesis he blesses the patriarchs with fertility and promises numerous descendants. Outside Genesis he both blesses/protects and takes away life/happiness.

The Flood of His Blood

September 1, 2015

Isaiah 59:19 AMP
So [as the result of the Messiah’s intervention] they shall [reverently] fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight [for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives].

When the enemy comes in like a flood
The Lord will lift up a standard against him …

Pondering the above the Lord gave me this song – it really encouraged me!

The Flood of His Blood

The flood of His blood
His banner of love
… over you
… over me
… our shield
… our glory
Ps 3:3

Lift up your heads and SEE!

The flood of His blood
His banner of love
… over you
… over me
Lift up your heads and SEE!

The blood of the Lord Jesus Christ is between His children and the enemy. It’s His banner{standard} of love over His children. A comforting, protecting banner, waving over our heads. Revealing to whom we belong! Lift up your head and SEE!

🙂

Exodus 17:15 AMP
And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The Lord is my Banner

From NetBible Ex 17:15

  • banner[05251] = standard, flagstaff
  • * “Yahweh-nissi”, which means “Yahweh is my banner.” Note that when Israel murmured and failed God, the name commemorated the incident or the outcome of their failure. When they were blessed with success, the naming praised God. Here the holding up of the staff of God was preserved in the name for the altar – God gave them the victory.

.
1 Peter 1:19 AMP
But [you were purchased] with the precious blood of Christ (the Messiah), like that of a [sacrificial] lamb without blemish or spot.

Song 2:4 AMP
He brought me to the banqueting house, and His banner over me was love [for love waved as a protecting and comforting banner over my head when I was near Him].

From NetBible Song 2:4

Psalm 24:7-8 AMP
Lift up your heads, O you gates; and be lifted up, you age-abiding doors, that the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

.

O Sovereign LORD, cover my head in the day of battle. You are my strong defense[saving defense] , my impenetrable shield! –Ps 140:7, 28:7-8
