None Can Fathom

May 19, 2017

Job 11:7-8Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? 8 They are higher than the heavens—what can you do? They are deeper than the depths of the grave— what can you know?

Psalm 145:3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; His greatness no one can fathom.

A Song:
No eye has seen
No ear has heard –Is 64:4;1Co 2:9
None can fathom
Or imagine
Great are You Lord
Great are You Lord
None can fathom how great You are Lord!

Isaiah 40:13-14,28 Who can fathom the Spirit of the Lord, or instruct the Lord as His counselor? 14 Whom did the Lord consult to enlighten Him, and who taught Him the right way? Who was it that taught Him knowledge, or showed Him the path of understanding? …
… 28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no-one can fathom{His wisdom has no limit}.

From NetBible Isa 40:28

  • *Exiled Israel’s complaint (v27) implies that God might be limited in some way. Perhaps he, like so many of the pagan gods, has died. Or perhaps his jurisdiction is limited to Judah and does not include Babylon. Maybe he is unable to devise an adequate plan to rescue his people, or is unable to execute it. But v28 affirms that he is not limited temporally or spatially nor is his power and wisdom restricted in any way. He can and will deliver his people, if they respond in hopeful faith (v31a).

Lifted up
Defeated the grave
Raised to life
Our God is able
In His name we overcome
For the Lord
Our God is able

Jesus Christ our Lord is able!
He is more than able to do all we ask or imagine!
He is God almighty
He is greater than all ….

Psalm 145:3 … Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; His greatness no one can fathom.

Ephesians 3:20-21 … Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
