Walk with Jesus

April 26, 2011

Micah 6:8He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?

Walking with Jesus doesn’t depend on our legs. It depends on our hearts.

Isaiah 57:15For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

James 4:10Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord{in the sight of the Lord}, and He will exalt you{lift you up}.

What is Holy Ground?

From: Take Off Your Shoes

What is holy ground?
It appears to be the place where God reveals Himself.

What does holy mean?
It means ‘set apart, unique, distinct’

Why is holy ground – being holy linked with taking off your shoes?
Taking off your sandals is a symbol for removing the dust & dirt of the world

Isaiah 57:15 AMP … For thus says the high and lofty One–He Who inhabits eternity, Whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, but with him also who is of a thoroughly penitent and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the thoroughly penitent [bruised with sorrow for sin]

So taking off your shoes is a symbol for a heart that is willing to humble itself before the Lord and be cleansed. This is where the Lord dwells and reveals Himself. This is holy ground ….

Psalm 51:7, 9-11 … Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean [ceremonially]; wash me, and I shall [in reality] be whiter than snow. … Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my guilt and iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me. Cast me not away from Your presence and take not Your Holy Spirit from me.

Whiter than Snow
