Many Plans

August 29, 2015

Proverbs 19:21 AMP
Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.

The heart can hold many plans that seem right
But only one plan – the Lord’s plan
=> Stands and brings life.
Jer 29:11-13

Woe to the rebellious children
Who take counsel and carry out a plan
Without consulting the Lord
=> This leads to death.

Commit whatever you do to the Lord, gaining His approval
=> then your plans will succeed and lead to Life!

U can make many plans-But write them in pencil & give God the eraser! -Pr 19:21

Proverbs 16:25, 14:12 AMP
There is a way that seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is the way of death.

From NetBible Prov 14:12

  • The individual can rationalize all he wants, but the result is still the same. The proverb warns that any evil activity can take any number of ways (plural) to destruction.

Isaiah 30:1 AMP
Woe to the rebellious children, says the Lord, who take counsel and carry out a plan, but not Mine, and who make a league{alliance} and pour out a drink offering, but not of My Spirit, thus adding sin to sin.

From NetBible Isa 30:1

  • NET … “The rebellious children are as good as dead,” says the Lord, “those who make plans without consulting me, who form alliances without consulting my Spirit, and thereby compound their sin.
    • rebellious[05637] = stubborn, obstinate
    • Woe[01945]  = good as dead
    • and pouring out a libation{drink offering}, but not [from] my spirit.” = This translation assumes that the verb נָסַךְ (nasakh) means “pour out,” and that the cognate noun מַסֵּכָה (massekhah) means “libation.” In this case “pouring out a libation” alludes to a ceremony that formally ratifies an alliance. Another option is to understand the verb נָסַךְ as a homonym meaning “weave,” and the cognate noun מַסֵּכָה as a homonym meaning “covering.” In this case forming an alliance is likened to weaving a garment.

Proverbs 16:3 AMP
Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.

From NetBible Prov 16:3

  • Roll /Commit&Trust = portrays complete dependence on the Lord. This would be accomplished with a spirit of humility and by means of diligent prayer, but the plan must also have God’s approval.

From NetBible Prov 19:21

  • The plans in the human heart are many. But only those which God approves will succeed.
  • The point of the proverb is that the human being with many plans is uncertain, but the Lord with a sure plan gives correct counsel.

Commit Your Way to the Lord

June 22, 2013

Psalm 37:5 AMP … Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.

Proverbs 16:3 AMP … Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.

Commit your way to the Lord

Commit everything you do to the LORD -Ps37:5 NLT
Commit your future to the LORD -Ps37:5 NET
Commit your works -Pr16:3 NASB

Commit your actions to the LORD -Ps16:3 NLT

From Commentary Ps 37:5The meaning of “Commit your way to the Lord” is, “Cast thyself and thy life unreservedly upon God – yield thyself wholly to Him – look to Him for support and guidance.”

Roll the whole burden of life upon the Lord. “Roll” emphasizes letting go and entrusting the Lord. Commit THEN trust!

Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident)  in Him

From Commentary Ps 37:5Our destiny shall be joyfully accomplished if we confidently commit/entrust all to our Lord.

Trust in Him – literally “on Him” and He will do what you can not.

Your thoughts will become agreeable to His will

He will bring it to pass; Your plans will succeed.

From Commentary Pro 16:3As a child opens its heart to a tender parent, so do thou show to God thy desires and intentions, trusting to His care and providence. And thy thoughts shall be established. The plans and deliberations out of which the “works” sprang shall meet with a happy fulfilment, because they are undertaken according to the will of God, and directed to the end by His guidance

Commit your way, your all to the  Lord and wait for His strength and guidance. Sometimes He may take us on a different path than expected to accomplish His will.

Lord Jesus help me to come to You as Your trusting child and commit whatever I do, to You each day. Let me wait for and follow Your direction. Thank You that as I do my part, You will do what I can not and Your plans will succeed!

Proverbs 3:5-6 … Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
