I AM the LORD who Heals

October 10, 2012

James 5:15-16 AMP … And the prayer [that is] of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will restore him; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

Psalm 46:1 … God is our refuge and strength, a very ever-present help in trouble!

This morning the Lord really encouraged me! I received a praise report from my Prayer Mail group. A testimony from someone who’s son was in the ER about a month ago with kidney failure – today his kidneys are functioning normal. Praise the LORD! It is a testimony not only that the Lord heals today but also that He is a VERY ever-present help! We need only to come to Him for ourselves or for the sick person who needs healing.

When we confess we are forgiven, we are purified from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9) making our prayers for healing powerful and dynamic in working{present}.

I took an in depth look at the above verses. The Lord encouraged me even more. May you also be encouraged by this testimony and the word study included below.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is still the Lord who heals and IS a VERY ever-present help!

Word StudyFrom NetBible Ja 5:15

  • save[4982] = to keep safe or rescue
    * to save a suffering one (from perishing), i.e. one suffering from disease, to make well, heal, restore to health
  • restore[1453] = to arouse from the sleep of death to life
    *to cause to rise up as from a bed{a sick bed}

From NetBible Ja 5:16

  • healed[2390] = to cure, make whole

Exodus 15:26 … If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.

Isaiah 53:4-5 … Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.

Jesus Christ our Lord, our healer, heals both physical and mental pain! By His stripes we are healed and made whole. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever! -Heb 13:5

Everlasting Refuge

September 26, 2012

Psalm 46:1God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Our God is
Our refuge and our unyielding strength
Our Rock in which to dwell
Our sheltering stronghold
Our fortress
Our strong tower
Our impenetrable shield
To which we may CONTINUALLY come …

Be to me a rock of refuge in which to dwell, and a sheltering stronghold to which I may continually resort, which You have appointed to save me, for You are my Rock and my Fortress. -Ps 71:3 AMP

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. -Prov 18:10

The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him. The Lord is their [unyielding] Strength, and He is the Stronghold of salvation to [me] His anointed. -Ps 28:7-8 AMP

Our EVER present help
Our everlasting Rock
Our everlasting strength
Our everlasting peace
Our everlasting comfort
Our everlasting joy!

You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages]. -Isa 26:3-4

I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you. -Jn 14:18

You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. -Ps 16:11

The eternal God is our refuge and underneath are His everlasting arms!-Deut 33:27

Pondering this scripture really blessed and encouraged me! It was as if the Lord reminded me that He is my rock of refuge to which I can continually come and find what I need – strength, protection, peace comfort, joy. This is both for now and forever; His arms are an everlasting refuge!

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, Who loved us and gave us everlasting consolation and encouragement and well-founded hope through [His] grace (unmerited favor), comfort and encourage your hearts and strengthen them [make them steadfast and keep them unswerving] in every good work and word. -2Thess 2:16-17

🙂 Hope this final word study really puts a smile on your face!
