January 18, 2015

Psalm 98:1 AMP
1 O sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have wrought salvation for Him.

From NetBible Ps 98:1

  • * A new song is appropriate because the Lord is constantly intervening in the world as its just king.
  • marvelous[06381] = wonderful, amazing, extraordinary
  • wrought salvation[03467] = accomplish deliverance, gain victory

Sing a new song to King Jesus
For He does marvelous things
His right hand and Holy arm intervenes
On behalf of His people
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly!

Psalm 118:14-17 AMP
14 The Lord is my Strength and Song; and He has become my Salvation.
15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents and private dwellings of the [uncompromisingly] righteous: the right hand of the Lord does valiantly and achieves strength!
16 The right hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord does valiantly and achieves strength!
17 I shall not die but live, and shall declare the works and recount the illustrious acts of the Lord.

From NetBible Ps 118:15

  • * does valiantly = does might things, conquers
The statement refers here to military success (see Num 24:181 Sam 14:48Pss 60:12; 108:13).
    Psalm 108:13 AMP
13 Through and with God we shall do valiantly{gain victory, do mighty things}, for He it is Who shall tread down our adversaries.

Through and with God we shall do valiantly
For it is He who fights for us!

We shall declare these marvelous things the Lord has done.

Joshua 4:23-24 AMP
23 [Joshua said,] For the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until you passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up for us until we passed over,
24 That all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is mighty and that you may reverence and fear the Lord your God forever.
