And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, “Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us.” 24 But He answered and said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25 But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” 26 And He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” 27 But she said, “Yes, Lord; but even the dogs feed on the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” 28 Then Jesus said to her, “O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed at once.

Glory From the Cleft

November 10, 2015

Pour forth, pour forth –Ps 119:171
From the cleft –Sos 2:14
Living water pure and clear –Ezek 47
From the Rock –Is 48:21;Ps 78:16;1Co 10:4
Faithful and true –Rev 19:11
Word of God –Rev 19:13
Pour forth, pour forth
Before the throne –Rev 19:4-5
With the voice of many waters –Rev 14:2
The roar of a great multitude –Rev 19:1
Glory from the cleft –Ex 33:22
Pour forth, pour forth
RENEW! –Ro 12:1-2

Romans 12:1-2 AMPC … I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].

The Lord’s glory is revealed by His voice of many waters(Rev 1:15, Ezek 43:2). His bride in His likeness has the same voice(Rev 19:5-7).

Notice that the Bride’s voice of many waters is heard after the command to praise(Rev 19:4-5)! It’s after this that the King of Glory is revealed in heaven which has been opened(Rev 19:11).

=> high praise, the new songs come from being taught the Lord’s word by the Holy Spirit in the cleft, and the dove sings from the cleft(Sos 2:14)!

His glory not only is seen from, but pours forth from the cleft. It’s the living water pouring from the temple(Ezek 47) – ankle deep, knee deep(getting deeper!) — enough to swim in. This living water also pours from the cleft – the temple – before the throne.

As we enter the secret place – the cleft – this living water and glory pour forth – for not only us but others to drink. It’s interesting how the new song seems to be related to high praise and this pouring forth from the cleft(see below).
There is a condition though — we need to be separate from the world – we can’t be entangled. We need to make a conscious decision to do this, and then we will be RENEWED and know what the Lord’s will is for us!

Psalm 119:171 NKJV … My lips shall utter praise, For You teach me Your statutes.

From NetBible Ps 119:171

  • utter[05042] = flow, pour forth, burst forth, bubble up
  • praise[08416] = song, high praise, adoration of the Lord
    * from hala[01984] = shine, boast, glory, celebrate

From NetBible Ps 149:1-2
Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, praise[08416] Him in the assembly of His saints! 2 Let Israel rejoice in Him, their Maker; let Zion’s children triumph and be joyful[01523] in their King!

A Fine Lamp

June 18, 2009

A great light has come to those who sit in darkness. The darkness cannot overcome it. Bear witness to the light. Glory is revealed with faith as a seal. Shine! You are a city on a hill. Shine! Do not cover what God makes known. Let your light shine. What a sight to see. Freedom has glory. Fear hides in the garden. Do not kick against His word to you. Press toward your high calling in Christ. Looking back will stop you in your tracks. The author and finisher is a lamp and light to your feet on the path ahead. Your sign is salt that has a Savior. You do not bear the cross with shame. Shine! The world cannot take joy from those who sit at his feet like Mary. The better part is reserved for you. Bear the Good News to all that need to see the love of God, the precious seed that bears much fruit. How will they hear if you do not proclaim? Speak and the deaf will hear and the lame will walk and the poor will have the Good News. Set free the captive. Shine!

2 Corinthians 4:3-4      But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the  light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

We need the light to shine!
We also need eyes opened – sight to see it.
There is no sight without light, but there can be light without sight.

Lord Jesus, open the eyes of those sitting in darkness that they might see
Your light — the Light of the world!

His Way Is In The Storm!

April 1, 2009

Nahum 1:3,7   The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, and the LORD will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. In whirlwind and storm is His way, and clouds are the dust beneath His feet. … The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.

The Lord is slow to anger and great in power. This is the only place in the bible where ‘slow to anger’ is linked with the Lord’s power. In other places the Lord’s abounding mercy is mentioned (Neh 9:17; Ps 103:8; Ps 145:8; Joel 2:13; Jonah 4:2). It’s because of the Lord’s great power and mercy that He is slow to anger, that He waits to act. Because of His great power and mercy His way is in the storm.

How do we find His way in the storm?

Usually when we are in the midst of a storm, we find it difficult to wait patiently for His way – especially if we don’t see it in the natural. But take heart, it’s in this patient waiting that the Lord proves our faith and perfects it as refined gold. His way is in the storm, His perfect way, that you may come forth as gold lacking nothing. He who has called you is faithful and He will do it!

1 Peter 1:6-7   In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,  that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

James 1:2-4, 19-20   My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. … So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;  for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24   Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful and He will do it!

Job 23:10   He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.

It’s sometimes hard to remember that while you are patiently waiting on the Lord, your faith is being refined as gold and your way is being made perfect. It’s made perfect to reflect our Lord Jesus Christ in our lives.  It’s by patient waiting in the storm that His way is perfected in us. His way IS in the storm, we just need to stand strong and continue to diligently seek Him. BELIEVE He rewards those who diligently seek Him!
