Come Up Hither

December 30, 2009

Revelation 19:4-9 The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshipped God, who was seated on the throne. And they cried: “Amen, Hallelujah!”
Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!”
Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
“Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.”
“Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”
And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints.
Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”

Revelation 21:9-11 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, “Come hither, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.

Come up hither!
See the bride, the Lamb’s wife
The holy city set on a hill -Mt 5:14-16
A great and high mountain
On the mount of the Lord it shall be seen{provided}! -Gen 22:14

The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. -Rev 21:23

Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever. -Dan 12:3

The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. -Prov 4:18

For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. -2 Cor 4:6

I AM making you a strong mountain
My city set on My holy hill
A light shining bright for all to see
I AM building up Zion -Ps 102:16
My glory revealed in your midst
The glory of God in the face of Christ. -2 Cor 3:18

I have loved you with an everlasting love;
… I have drawn you with loving-kindness. –Jer 31:3

May He kiss me with the kisses of His mouth! For your love is better than wine. Pleasing is the fragrance of your perfumes; your name is like perfume poured out. Therefore the virgins love you. Draw me away! Let us run together! Let the king bring me into his chambers. We rejoice and delight in you; we will praise your love more than wine. How right they are to adore you! –Song 1:2-4

Draw me, draw me away Lord
Up into Your holy hill, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High
That I may adore You
Oh to taste Your love and behold Your face!

One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD. -Ps 27:4-6

Heart Cry

A Longing Heart Cry; An Answer

August 11, 2009

These songs were in my heart today …
May this encourage you also! :D

Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth — For your love is better than wine. Because of the fragrance of your good ointments, Your name is ointment poured forth; Therefore the virgins love you.

Draw me after you and let us run together! The king has brought me into his chambers.”

“We will rejoice in you and be glad; We will extol your love more than wine. The upright love you.”–Song 1:2-4

Hear the heart cry of the Bride …

Keep me
Hide me
Surround me O LORD

I long to be
Held in Your gaze
As a precious jewel
The apple of Your eye
Beneath Your wings
In Your everlasting arms
You are mine
I am yours

Keep me
Hide me
Surround me O LORD.

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. -Psalm 32:7

There shall once more be heard the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voices of those who sing, as they bring thank offerings to the house of the LORD: “Give thanks to the LORD of hosts, for the LORD is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!” -Jere 33:10-11

The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. -Zeph 3:17

The Bridegroom’s answer to the Bride’s longing heart cry …

In My eyes, in My eyes,
You are so precious in My sight

In My eyes, in My eyes,
So much love for My Bride.

In My eyes, in My eyes,
You are so precious in My sight

Held in My gaze, a beautiful jewel
The apple of My eye

Under My wing, you’ll abide
So precious in My sight, you are held
You are held
In My eyes

Forever more
You are held
In My eyes.

Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the LORD and who meditate on His name. “They shall be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels{treasured possesion}. And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him.”
-Mal 3:16-17

Who are these that fly along like clouds, like doves to their nests? -Isaiah 60:8

O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, In the secret place of the steep pathway{stairs}, Let me see your form, Let me hear your voice; For your voice is sweet, and your form is lovely. -Song 2:14

*stairs speak of access to the Bridegroom’s presence

May you hear His song in your heart today and come running to Him
Fly into His waiting arms
Be drawn AWAY!

Song 2:8    {I hear} The voice of my beloved!
Behold, He comes leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.

Following the King’s Beauty

May 22, 2009

Psalm 27:4-6    One thing I have asked from the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD and to seek Him in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling; He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at His tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.

What happens when we, like David, make beholding the beauty of the King in the place where He dwells(ZionPs 132:13) the ‘one thing’ that we seek?

We ‘taste and see’ and know that the Lord is good! –Ps 34:8
We know that His love is better than life –Ps 63:3
… more delightful than wine –Song 1:2

This creates a passion, a thirst like that of the deer panting for the streams of living water.

As the hart pants and longs for the water brooks, so I pant and long for You, O God. My inner self thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God? -Ps 42:1-2 AMP

A passion which follows hard[01692], clinging, cleaving closely to the Lord. Following hard enough to capture or overtake(Ps 63:8) that which is sought.

A passion to reach for and capture the prize, a passion to run the race with endurance.

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. –1 Cor 9:24

… I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. -Phil 3:13-14

This passion of the hart is also the passion of the Bride for the Bridegroom.

Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth — For your love is better than wine. Because of the fragrance of your good ointments, Your name is ointment poured forth; Therefore the virgins love you. Draw me after you and let us run together! The king has brought me into his chambers.” “We will rejoice in you and be glad; We will extol your love more than wine. The upright love you.” -Song 1:2-4

This cry to be drawn away is the cry of the Bride for union and communion with her Beloved. There is an inexpressible glorious joy that results from even the thought of a love like this.

The result of this joy? This following hard after the King?

Psalm 63:1-8    O GOD, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You, my flesh longs and is faint for You, in a dry and weary land where no water is.

2 So I have looked upon You in the sanctuary to see Your power and Your glory.

3 Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.

4 So will I bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.

5 My whole being shall be satisfied as with marrow and *fatnes[01880]; and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips

6 When I remember You upon my bed and meditate on You in the night watches.

7 For You have been my help, and in the shadow of Your wings will I rejoice.

8 My whole being follows hard after You and clings closely to You; Your right hand upholds me.

Your whole being shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and your mouth shall show forth His praise!

You shall be upheld by the King’s mighty right hand.

My Cup Overflows!

Psalm 23:5 AMP     You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You *anoint[01878] my head with **oil; My [brimming] cup runs over.

** It is difficult for those living in a temperate climate to appreciate, but it was customary in hot climates to anoint the body with oil to protect it from excessive perspiration. When mixed with perfume, the oil imparted a delightfully refreshing and invigorating sensation. Athletes anointed their bodies as a matter of course before running a race. As the body, therefore, anointed with oil was refreshed, invigorated, and better fitted for action, so the Lord would anoint His “sheep” with the Holy Spirit, Whom oil symbolizes, to fit them to engage more freely in His service and run in the way He directs–in heavenly fellowship with Him.

Psalm 36:7-9     How priceless is Your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They drink their fill of the *abundance[01880] of Your house; and You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.

Jeremiah 31:7, 11-14    For thus says the LORD, “Sing aloud with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations; Proclaim, give praise and say, ‘O LORD, save Your people, the remnant of Israel.’

For the LORD has ransomed Jacob and redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he. “They will come and shout for joy on the height of Zion, and they will be radiant over the bounty of the LORD– over the grain and the new wine and the oil, and over the young of the flock and the herd; And their life will be like a watered garden, and they will never languish again.  “Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old, together, for I will turn their mourning into joy and will comfort them and give them joy for their sorrow. “I will fill the soul of the priests with *abundance[01880], and My people will be satisfied with My goodness,” declares the LORD.

As the Deer

January 30, 2009

Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth — For your love is better than wine. Because of the fragrance of your good ointments, Your name is ointment poured forth; Therefore the virgins love you. Draw me after you and let us run together! The king has brought me into his chambers.” “We will rejoice in you and be glad; We will extol your love more than wine. The upright love you.”–Song 1:2-4

*The verb (mashakh, “draw”) is a figurative expression
(hypocatastasis) which draws an implied comparison between the physical acting of leading a person with the romantic action of leading a person in love. Elsewhere it is used figuratively of a master gently leading an animal with leather cords (Hos 11:4) and of a military victor leading his captives (Jer 31:3). The point of comparison might be that the woman wants to be the willing captive of the love of her beloved, that is, a willing prisoner of his love.

The heart cry of an awakened heart desparately longing to be drawn away by her beloved in His cords of love.

[Joyfully the radiant bride turned to him, the one altogether lovely, the chief among ten thousand to her soul, and with unconcealed eagerness to begin her life of sweet companionship with him, she answered] Make haste, my beloved, and come quickly, like a gazelle or a young hart [and take me to our waiting home] upon the mountains of spices! –Song 8:14 AMP

Establish your hearts on the Rock –Ja 5:8
For the coming of the Lord draws nigh.
Surrender in complete abandonment
Fervently sing in the shadow of His wings
Rejoice and be glad
Set the Lord always before
Follow hard
Upheld in His presence taste fullness of joy
Drink deeply of His love
Let Him flood your dry ground –Ps 44:3
The path of life made known
At His right hand are pleasures forevermore. –Ps 16:11

My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD;
My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Better is one day in your courts than 1000 elsewhere! –Ps 84:2,10

As the deer pants for the streams of living water
So my soul pants for you, O God. –Ps 42:1

My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast.
I will sing and make melody.
Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. –Ps 57:7-8
