Psalm 19:9-10 AMP … The [reverent] fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, even than much fine gold; they are sweeter also than honey and drippings from the honeycomb.

Flying Soaring Wings

October 15, 2015

Thinking about the wings of the dove and the wings of an eagle soaring through the clouds. The Lord reminded me of something He inspired me to do in the past. I made the following image. (See the Lion of Judah behind the clouds?)

A beautiful eagle is lifted high, soaring in the clouds. The royal Lion of Judah is in the background, supplying the wind (the roar), the power, the breath of the Spirit beneath the eagle’s wings.

The soaring eagle, it’s the eagle of (Is 40:28-31), the promise that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength and not grow weary. They will soar on wings like eagles. Placing all hope and trust in the Lord, waiting on Him, this is how one soars. This is also a key step in worship, in entering the Lord’s courts, His sanctuary, the secret place, His manifest presence (Ps 100; Ps 91:1-4). He inhabits, is enthroned on the praises of His people (Ps 22:3;Ex 15:2;Rv 5:6,9-13;Ps 40:1-3). The Lord himself guides those who trust in Him to this place where He dwells (Ps 43). The Lord prepares and draws those who have clean hands and pure willing hearts to this secret place (Ps 24).

The secret place is also the place of rest, the dove longs to fly away to. The place before the throne where prophecy happens(Ps 55:6;Ps 68:8,13). A place of spiritual wisdom and vision seen in the eyes of both the eagle and dove(Is 40:28;1 Cor 2:7-10;Ps 32:7-8). A place of double portion(Is 61). A place of freedom in the Spirit of the Lord! (2 Cor 3:17) SOAR!!!!!

Isaiah 61:6-7 – Double Portion
You will be called the priests of the LORD;
You will be spoken of as ministers of our God.
You will eat the wealth of nations,
And in their glory{honour} you will boast.
Instead of your shame you shall have double honor,
And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.
Therefore in their land they shall possess double;
Everlasting joy shall be theirs.

Rest in the Shadow

In the shade of the Almighty

Rest in the shadow
In the shade of the Almighty
The shade of a great Rock
A great Rock in a thirsty land –
Is 32:2,25:4-5

The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. -Ps 121:5 NLT

Come rest secure
In the shadow of His wings
In the shade – the canopy of His glory
Rest, glorious rest!
Is 11:10

Isaiah 4:5-6 AMP … And the Lord will create over the whole site, over every dwelling place of Mount Zion and over her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory shall be a canopy (a defense of divine love and protection). And there shall be a pavilion[tabernacle] for shade in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge and a shelter from storm and from rain.

From NetBible Isa 4:5-6

  • dwelling place[04349] = established place, habitation
  • canopy[02646] = divine protection, defense
    =>”over all the glory, a canopy.” This may allude to Exod 40:34-35, where a cloud overshadows the meeting tent as it is filled with God’s glory.
  • pavilion[05521] =tabernacle, booth
  • shade[06738] = shadow, protection, defense

Psalm 91:1-2, 4 AMP
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”
… He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

From NetBible Ps 91:1

  • dwells[03427] = abides, remains, have one’s abode, to marry (give a dwelling to)
  • shelter[05643] = covering, hiding place, secret place
  • rest[03885] = abide, dwell, lodge{all night}
  • shadow[06738] = shade, protection, defense
  • *  In this psalm an individual (perhaps a priest) addresses one who has sought shelter in the Lord and assures him that God will protect him from danger (vv. 1-13). In vv. 14-16 God himself promises to keep his loyal follower safe.
  • * The Lord is compared here to a bird who protects its young under the shadow of its wings (see v. 4).
  • *  The divine name used here is “Shaddai” (שַׁדַּיshadday; see also Ps 68:14). Shaddai (or El Shaddai) is the mighty king (sovereign judge) of the world who grants life/blesses and kills/judges. In Genesis he blesses the patriarchs with fertility and promises numerous descendants. Outside Genesis he both blesses/protects and takes away life/happiness.

Peace Like A River

July 11, 2010

From: Peace, Like a River, Flows…

Rivers seem peaceful to people because they know for sure they’re going to get where they are going
—> and they don’t want to go anywhere else. —Howell Bale

The Lord used the above to really encouraged me!

It’s as if He said to me ‘Trust Me’
Be still and let My peace flow like a river.
I know where you are going
I have prepared it
I am faithful to finish what I have begun
Let My peace carry you.

Trust Me – rest
I have prepared your way.

:)

Isaiah 48:17-18 This is what the LORD says—your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. 18If only you had paid attention to My commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Romans 16:19-20 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. 20The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

***********

The above made me think of the dove.

Matthew 10:16 … Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.

From: http://bible.cc/matthew/10-16.htm

10:16 As sheep in the midst of wolves. Defenseless by human means, among the fierce and cruel; among bitter enemies.

Wise as serpents. Prudent, discreet. Serpents are very cautious in avoiding danger.

Harmless as doves. Guileless and innocent as doves. The dove, peaceful, never preying on other birds, has always been a symbol of innocence.

1 Corinthians 14:20 … Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults{mature understanding}.

The peaceful dove, carrying an olive leaf …

Genesis 8:8-12 … Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. 9But the dove could find no place to set its feet because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. 10He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. 11When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah[05146] knew that the water had receded from the earth. 12Then he waited yet another seven days, and sent out the dove; but she did not return to him again.

Noah[05146] means ‘rest’. From [05118] which means resting place.

***

The Lord’s dove always finds rest in Him
In the ark of His presence, carried upon the river of His peace
… until the waters recede
… and everything is made new! -Rev 21:1-5

Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest!
Psalm 55:6

Grace and peace to you from God our Father
And the Lord Jesus Christ!

Yesterday at church this song really spoke to me!

I Hear the Words of Love
Lyrics by Horatius Bonar, 1861
From: worshipmatters.com

I hear the words of love, I gaze upon the blood,
I see the mighty sacrifice and I have peace with God.

‘Tis everlasting peace! Sure as Jehovah’s Name;
‘Tis stable as His steadfast throne, for evermore the same.

The clouds may come and go, and storms may sweep my sky,
This blood sealed friendship changes not: The cross is ever nigh.

My love is oft times low, my joy still ebbs and flows;
But peace with Him remains the same, no change Jehovah knows.

I change, He changes not, The Christ can never die;
His love, not mine, the resting place, His truth, not mine, the tie.

My soul shall be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

For as the earth brings forth its bud,
As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth,
{as a garden cascades with blossoms},

So the Lord GOD will brings righteousness into full bloom and puts praise on display before the nations.

Among the Lilies
Arise Beautiful One, My Fair One
Among the Lilies{article}

From A Bouquet of Lilies:

They look like lilies, white lilies, long stemmed and graceful, their stalks and head, bowing and flexing out like the necks of a swans. They are taken to a home. The stems are already cut and are placed in a clear glass crystal vase, splaying out in splendor as a centre piece of freshness and fragrance.

Not all the buds are open yet, but they will be, they will open out in youthfulness, majesty and modesty, for the flowers have been cut for such a time as this. And chosen to adorn the houses of man and heaven since before all eternity. Not just a single flower, but a bouquet of them.

Fear not little one, you are not forgotten, nor what was or has happened to you been unforeseen or uncontrolled. Time is like light it is allowed to splay and open up the corners of the shadows at the very moment I have chosen it to, for I decided before the sight of man could even comprehend, when it was that it, you would be released. I have timed you to come to my landing place at the speed and place that has long been in my sight.
