Hope that NEVER Disappoints

Romans 5:1-5 AMP … Therefore, since we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). 2 Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God’s favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God. 3 Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. 4 And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation. 5 Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.

Psalm 34:3,5 … Oh, magnify the LORD{let us tell of His greatness} with me, and let us exalt{lift up-praise} His name together. … 5 Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces

From NetBible Ps 34:5

What does this hope that never disappoints look like?
Ponder Psalm 22
Think of the disciples when Christ was crucified. In their humanness they did experience deep disappointment before they saw for themselves that Christ rose true to His word. David seems to have experienced this same {temporary} disappointment.
.
Psalm 22:4-6 AMP …  In You our fathers trusted [leaned on, relied on, and were confident]; They trusted and You rescued them. 5 They cried out to You and were delivered; They trusted in You and were not disappointed or ashamed. 6 But I am [treated as] a worm [insignificant and powerless] and not a man; I am the scorn of men and despised by the people.
.
Maybe this {temporary} disappointment is because in their humanness they had their hope in a certain outcome and not in Christ to guide, guard and lead them  through “His way”. Romans 5 is the description of a hope that does not disappoint. A hope and faith in Christ that grows and matures as we surrender and entrust ALL to Him. Where is your hope today?
.
Psalm 22:23-26 AMP … You who fear the Lord [with awe-inspired reverence], praise Him! All you descendants of Jacob, honor Him. Fear Him [with submissive wonder], all you descendants of Israel. 24 For He has not despised nor detested the suffering of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from him; But when he cried to Him for help, He listened. 25 My praise will be of You in the great assembly. I will pay my vows [made in the time of trouble] before those who [reverently] fear Him. 26 The afflicted will eat and be satisfied; Those who [diligently] seek Him and require Him [as their greatest need] will praise the Lord. May your hearts live forever!
.
1Thessalonians 5:23-24 AMP … Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [that is, separate you from profane and vulgar things, make you pure and whole and undamaged—consecrated to Him—set apart for His purpose]; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete and [be found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Faithful and absolutely utterly trustworthy is He who is calling you [to Himself for your salvation], and He will do it [He will fulfill His call by making you holy, guarding you, watching over you, and protecting you as His own].
.
Romans 15:13 AMP … May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises.
