I Will Stand My Ground

September 1, 2017

2Timothy 4:2Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

Psalm 119:114You[Lord] are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.

Stand Firm
Contend earnestly for the faith –
Jude 1:3
Preach the word in and out of season
The Lord sees and hears your cry
No matter what you face
Know in due time –
1Pe 5:6
He’ll take all that is wrong and make it right!

YES!!-Thank U Lord-I will stand my ground where hope can be found=>U are my shield & I hope in Ur word! -Ps 119:114

Psalm 40:1-3, 11 I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me and heard my cry. 2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. 3 He has put a new song in my mouth––Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD. ……. 11 Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O LORD; Let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me.

Philippians 1:27-30Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ so that – whether I[Paul] come and see you or whether I remain absent – I should hear that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind, by contending side by side for the faith of the gospel, 28 without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God. 29 For it has been granted to you not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for Him, 30 since you are going through the same struggle(conflict) you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.

Acts 20:25-31Now I[Paul] know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom will ever see me again. 26 Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of any of you. 27 For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will(counsel) of God. 28 Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. 29 I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. 30 Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. 31 So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.

None Can Fathom

May 19, 2017

Job 11:7-8Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? 8 They are higher than the heavens—what can you do? They are deeper than the depths of the grave— what can you know?

Psalm 145:3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; His greatness no one can fathom.

A Song:
No eye has seen
No ear has heard –Is 64:4;1Co 2:9
None can fathom
Or imagine
Great are You Lord
Great are You Lord
None can fathom how great You are Lord!

Isaiah 40:13-14,28 Who can fathom the Spirit of the Lord, or instruct the Lord as His counselor? 14 Whom did the Lord consult to enlighten Him, and who taught Him the right way? Who was it that taught Him knowledge, or showed Him the path of understanding? …
… 28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no-one can fathom{His wisdom has no limit}.

From NetBible Isa 40:28

  • *Exiled Israel’s complaint (v27) implies that God might be limited in some way. Perhaps he, like so many of the pagan gods, has died. Or perhaps his jurisdiction is limited to Judah and does not include Babylon. Maybe he is unable to devise an adequate plan to rescue his people, or is unable to execute it. But v28 affirms that he is not limited temporally or spatially nor is his power and wisdom restricted in any way. He can and will deliver his people, if they respond in hopeful faith (v31a).

Lead Me to the Cross

April 23, 2017

Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Lead me, lead me to the cross ….

Galatians 2:20 NASB … I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
There is new life in surrender to the cross
Die to self
Be crucified with Christ
Walk in the newness of His life! –Rom 6:4

“I have now concentrated all my prayers into one, and that one prayer is this, that I may die to self, and live wholly to Him.”

– Charles Spurgeon{from: Christian Devotional}

Fresh Oil and Wine

April 5, 2017

Luke 10:33-34 NASB … But a Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion, 34 and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him.

From Godvine LK 10:34

  • *Pouring on oil and wine – Which when well beaten together are one of the best balsams that can be applied to a fresh wound.

A song:
Fresh oil and wine
Fresh oil and wine
New mercy, new mercy
Today …

Poured out in love
Poured out in blood
Fresh oil and wine
By His stripes
made whole.

Isaiah 53:4-5 … Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.

Lamentations 3:21-23This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the LORD’S never ending mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. [They are] new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus

March 21, 2017

‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word …

Luke 11:27-28 AMPC … Now it occurred that as He was saying these things, a certain woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, Blessed (happy and to be envied) is the womb that bore You and the breasts that You sucked!
28 But He said, Blessed (happy and to be envied) rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey and practice it!

Luke 8:21 NASB … But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er;
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus-Just to take Him at HisWord=>Blessed are they who Trust&Obey=Joy of the Lord! –Ps28:7

Colossians 2:6-7 NKJV … As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith{trust}, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

Lamentations 3:21-24 AMPC
21 But this I recall and therefore have I hope and expectation:

NLT … Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this:

22 It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not.

The LORD’S loving kindnesses{mercies} indeed never cease{we are kept from complete destruction – not consumed}, For His compassions never fail.

23 They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.

Great is his faithfulness; His mercies begin{are created} afresh each day.

24 The Lord is my portion or share, says my living being (my inner self); therefore will I hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him.

A Song:

Taste afresh and see –Ps 19:8,34:8;1Sa 14:29
