Encompassed Round About!

June 29, 2014

Psalm 125:1-2 AMP
1 Those who trust in, lean on, and confidently hope in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides and stands fast forever.
2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about His people from this time forth and forever.

Psalm 32:7,10 AMP
7 You are a hiding place for me; You, Lord, preserve me from trouble, You surround me with songs and shouts of deliverance. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

10 Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but he who trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on the Lord shall be compassed about with mercy and with loving-kindness.

From NetBible Ps 125:2

  • round about[05439] = surround on all sides, encircle, encompass
    *from [05437] = encompass

From NetBible Ps 32:7,10

  • compass about[05437] = encompass, surround

Trust in the Lord
In the shadow of His wings
Be encompassed, encircled, enveloped, round about
By the Lord Himself!

With His mercy and loving-kindness
With songs of deliverance
Be encompassed, encircled, enveloped, round about
By the Lord Himself
For He is your hiding place!

Trust in the Lord and you will not be shaken
You will overcome.

God’s Perfect Timing

June 28, 2014

Psalm 31:14-16 NIV
14 But I trust in you, Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
15 My times are in your hands;
deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me.
16 Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love.

Remember God’s timing is perfect! Continue to hope and trust in the Lord and His timing – He will open the right doors in due time{if you don’t give up}.

Psalm 31:23-24 NIV
23 Love the Lord, all his faithful people!
The Lord preserves those who are true to him, but the proud he pays back in full.
24 Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.

There is a timing for ALL things in our lives, and there is SAFETY in being in God’s PERFECT TIMING ~Joyce Meyer

Perfect Timing
Karen Holland

Lord my times are in Your hands
So I’ll trust and I’ll wait
For Your timing, Your perfect timing
For Your love, it never fails.

So I’ll trust and I’ll wait
For Your timing, Your perfect timing
For I know You Lord, You are never late!

Thank You Lord Jesus for Your unfailing love and Your perfect timing. Help me to surrender all to You. Thank You that as I trust and wait, You will preserve and strengthen my heart. Thank You that these waiting times are by Your design.

No Nobodies!

June 25, 2014

1 Corinthians 12:20-22 AMP
20 And now there are [certainly] many limbs and organs, but a single body.
21 And the eye is not able to say to the hand, I have no need of you, nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
22 But instead, there is [absolute] necessity for the parts of the body that are considered the more weak.

From Our Daily Bread: No Nobodies

God can take a lowly vessel,
Shape it with His mighty hand,
Fill it with a matchless treasure,
Make it serve a purpose grand. —Bosch

There is no such thing as insignificant service for Christ.

No part of the body of Christ is insignificant.
All parts are equally important and needed => no nobodies!

1 Corinthians 12:23-24 AMP
23 And those [parts] of the body which we consider rather ignoble are [the very parts] which we invest with additional honor, and our unseemly parts and those unsuitable for exposure are treated with seemliness (modesty and decorum),
24 Which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so adjusted (mingled, harmonized, and subtly proportioned the parts of) the whole body, giving the greater honor and richer endowment to the inferior parts which lack [apparent importance],

1 Corinthians 15:57-58 AMP
57 But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord [always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord], knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile [it is never wasted or to no purpose].

Not By Might

June 18, 2014

Zechariah 4:6 AMP
6 Then he said to me, This [addition of the bowl to the candlestick, causing it to yield a ceaseless supply of oil from the olive trees] is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of Whom the oil is a symbol], says the Lord of hosts.

Philippians 4:13 AMP
13 I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].

Recently as I was meditating and praying the above scriptures, the Lord gave me an encouraging song. It is a reminder that the Lord is our strength and that there is no other Rock like Jesus Christ our Lord!

Not By Might

Not by power
Not by might
But by Your Spirit Lord
I can do all things through the strength of Christ
I can do all things through the strength of Christ
All praise be to my Rock!

No other Rock
I know not one
You alone Lord
Are truly great!

You are the first
You are the last
Lord Almighty You
Are truly great!

I can do all things through the strength of Christ
I can do all things through the strength of Christ
All praise be to my Rock!

Isaiah 44:6-8 AMP
6 Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God.
7 Who is like Me? Let him [stand and] proclaim it, declare it, and set [his proofs] in order before Me, since I made and established the people of antiquity. [Who has announced from of old] the things that are coming? Then let them declare yet future things.
8 Fear not, nor be afraid [in the coming violent upheavals]; have I not told it to you from of old and declared it? And you are My witnesses! Is there a God besides Me? There is no [other] Rock; I know not any.

Fret Not – He is Faithful!

June 11, 2014

Psalm 37:1-3 AMP
1 Fret not yourself because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness (that which is not upright or in right standing with God).
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed.

The cure for fretting = feed on His faithfulness!

From NetBible Ps 37:1

  • fret[02734] = be angry, burn, be displeased, grieve

From NetBible Ps 37:3

  • feed[07462] = pasture, tend, graze
  • faithfulness[0530] = firmness, fidelity, steadfastness, truth

Psalm 100:3,5 AMP
3 Know (perceive, recognize, and understand with approval) that the Lord is God! It is He Who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]! We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Psalm 91:1-4 AMP
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!
3 For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
4 [Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

From NetBible Ps 91:4

  • faithfulness[0571] = truth, firmness, sureness, reliability, trustworthiness
  • buckler = protective wall

Psalm 100:4-5 AMP
4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name!
5 For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations.

Let My Peace Carry You

June 10, 2014

Isaiah 48:17-18 NIV …This is what the LORD says—your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. 18 If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Peace like a river flows when you follow His lead.

Be Still and know
The Lord is good
He has prepared the way
And He is faithful to finish what He starts!

Be still and know
Let His peace like a river carry you through.

Carry

Deuteronomy 1:31 AMP
31 And in the wilderness, where you have seen how the Lord your God bore you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place.

Philippians 1:6 AMP
6 And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.

Today may you rest in the Father’s embrace and let Him carry you through in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Beside Still Waters – KNOW!

June 7, 2014

Psalm 23:1-3 AMP … THE LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack. He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters. He refreshes and restores my life (my self);

Revelation 7:17 AMP … For the Lamb Who is in the midst of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to the springs of the waters of life{living waters}; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

I was thinking and praying the above scriptures for a friend when the Lord encouraged me with the following song – maybe it will encourage you too!

Beside Still Waters – KNOW!

Follow the Lamb wherever He goes
With all your heart
Be still and know
Beside still waters He will lead
There His peace like a river it flows
There His peace forever it flows.

Taste and see the Lord He is good
Beside still waters
Be still and know.

May the Good Shepherd who is also the Lamb, continue to lead you beside still waters where every tear is wiped away. There, taste and SEE that the Lord is good! May you experience the peace of the Lord in a fresh new way TODAY!

.

Psalm 46:10-11 AMP
10 Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!
11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our High Tower and Stronghold). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

Psalm 34:7-10 AMP
7 The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him [who revere and worship Him with awe] and each of them He delivers.
8 O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him.
9 O fear the Lord, you His saints [revere and worship Him]! For there is no want to those who truly revere and worship Him with godly fear.

Guard Your Heart

June 4, 2014

Proverbs 4:23 AMP
23 Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.

Why do we need to guard our hearts so carefully? Why is this so important?

.
Proverbs 4:23 NLT
23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do.

Proverbs 23:7 AMP
7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. …

1 Samuel 16:7 AMP
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, Look not on his appearance or at the height of his stature, for I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.

Quote from —D. De Haan
Think not alone of outward form;
Its beauty will depart;
But cultivate the Spirit’s fruits
That grow within the heart. —D. De Haan

Galatians 5:22-23 AMP
22 But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,
23 Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].

.

Psalm 119:9-11 NIV
9 How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to Your word.
10 I seek You with all my heart;
do not let me stray from Your commands.
11 I have hidden Your word in my heart
that I might not sin against You.

Lord Jesus, help us hide Your word in our hearts. Thank You that as we wholeheartedly do this – our hearts will be guarded showing the fruits of Your Holy Spirit. Help our hearts to continue to grow in You.
