Stand Firm

September 30, 2012

Proverbs 10:25When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever{has an everlasting foundation}.

Isaiah 26:4Trust in the LORD forever, for in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock.

Those whose hope is firmly planted in the Lord stand firm.
This hope is an anchor for the soul!
-Heb 6:17-20

Do not be afraid
Stand firm and you will see
The deliverance the LORD will bring you today
The LORD will fight for you
You need only to be still and hold your peace.
Exo 14:13-14

Hebrews 10:35-37 NLT …  So do not throw away this confident
trust in the Lord, no matter what happens. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised. For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay.

Hebrews 10:23Let us hold fast the confession of our hope{in Christ Jesus} without wavering, for He who promised is faithful!

Psalm 40:1-3I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in Him.

Stand firm on the Rock and praise!

Psalms 18:46The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Saviour!

Everlasting Mercy

September 28, 2012

Psalm 36:7 NASB … How precious is Your lovingkindness[mercy], O God! Therefore the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.

Psalm 36:7 NLT … How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.

Psalm 103:17 AMP … The mercy and lovingkindness of the Lord are from everlasting to everlasting upon those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him.

From: http://www.biblestudytools.com/commentaries/treasury-of-david/psalms-103-17.html

Blessed! But, how vast the contrast between the fading flower and the everlasting God! How wonderful that His mercy should link our frailty with His eternity, and make us everlasting too!

Be merciful and gracious to me, O LORD, for my soul takes refuge and finds shelter and confidence in You; in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge and trust. -Ps 57:1

Everlasting Refuge

September 26, 2012

Psalm 46:1God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Our God is
Our refuge and our unyielding strength
Our Rock in which to dwell
Our sheltering stronghold
Our fortress
Our strong tower
Our impenetrable shield
To which we may CONTINUALLY come …

Be to me a rock of refuge in which to dwell, and a sheltering stronghold to which I may continually resort, which You have appointed to save me, for You are my Rock and my Fortress. -Ps 71:3 AMP

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. -Prov 18:10

The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him. The Lord is their [unyielding] Strength, and He is the Stronghold of salvation to [me] His anointed. -Ps 28:7-8 AMP

Our EVER present help
Our everlasting Rock
Our everlasting strength
Our everlasting peace
Our everlasting comfort
Our everlasting joy!

You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages]. -Isa 26:3-4

I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you. -Jn 14:18

You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. -Ps 16:11

The eternal God is our refuge and underneath are His everlasting arms!-Deut 33:27

Pondering this scripture really blessed and encouraged me! It was as if the Lord reminded me that He is my rock of refuge to which I can continually come and find what I need – strength, protection, peace comfort, joy. This is both for now and forever; His arms are an everlasting refuge!

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, Who loved us and gave us everlasting consolation and encouragement and well-founded hope through [His] grace (unmerited favor), comfort and encourage your hearts and strengthen them [make them steadfast and keep them unswerving] in every good work and word. -2Thess 2:16-17

🙂 Hope this final word study really puts a smile on your face!

Shine Bright

September 19, 2012

Clothed in white -Rev 3:15;Isa 1:18;Ps 51:7
My Bride, My delight
My lily, My dove
My joy displayed -Song 2:2
Shine bright.

My love rejoices in the flowering of truth -1Co 13:6
Blossoms unfold
Joy unspeakable
Full of glory -1Pe1:8
Sweet fragrance of life
My light displayed for all to see.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. – Mt 5:14

I will be full of joy in the Lord, my soul will be glad in my God; for he has put on me the clothing of salvation, covering me with the robe of righteousness, as the husband puts on a fair head-dress, and the bride makes herself beautiful with jewels. For as the earth puts out buds, and as the garden gives growth to the seeds which are planted in it, so the Lord will make righteousness and praise to be flowering before all the nations. -Isa 61:10-11 BBE

The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. -Ps 119:130

Sweeter than Honey

September 16, 2012

Psalm 19:8-10 AMP … The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure and bright, enlightening the eyes. The [reverent] fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even than much fine gold; they are sweeter also than honey and drippings from the honeycomb.

Proverbs 16:24Pleasant-Kind-Gracious words are like a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

From NetBible Prov 16:24

*The metaphor of honey or the honeycomb is used elsewhere in scripture, notably Ps 19:10 [11]. Honey was used in Israel as a symbol of the delightful and healthy products of the land – “a land flowing with milk and honey” (Deut 6:3).

* Two predicates are added to qualify the metaphor: The pleasant words are “sweet” and “healing.” “Soul” includes in it the appetites, physical and spiritual; and so sweet to the “soul” would summarize all the ways pleasant words give pleasure. “Bones” is a metonymy of subject, the boney framework representing the whole person, body and soul. Pleasant words, like honey, will enliven and encourage the whole person. One might recall, in line with the imagery here, how Jonathan’s eyes brightened when he ate from the honeycomb (1 Sam 14:27).

Seek Jesus Christ as if looking for hidden treasure.

His words are sweeter than honey; More desired than much fine gold. -Col2:2-3; Ps19:10,119:103,119:72,119:127

They are sweet to the soul bringing joy to the heart, light to the eyes and healing to the bones.

If you have any word of exhortation or consolation or encouragement for the people, say it! -ACTS 13:15 AMP

Treasure

September 15, 2012

The greatest treasure we can find is Christ Himself.

My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. -Col 2:2-3

In Christ are hidden all treasures of {divine}wisdom and {all the riches of spiritual}knowledge. -Col 2:2-3 AMP

Seek Jesus Christ as if looking for hidden treasure.

My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. -Prov 2:1-5

His words are sweeter than honey;
More desired than much fine gold.
-Ps 19:10,119:103,119:72,119:127
.

Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. -Mt 7:7 AMP

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him, and he [will eat] with Me. -Rev 3:20 AMP
