Apples of Gold in a Garden Enclosed

March 23, 2024

Song 4:11-16 Your lips drop[05197] sweetness as the honeycomb, my bride; milk and honey are under your tongue. The fragrance of your garments is like that of Lebanon.

drop[05197]= distill, prophesy, preach, discourse

12 A garden enclosed is my sister, my spouse{bride}, A spring shut up, A fountain sealed. 13 Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates With pleasant fruits, Fragrant henna with spikenard, 14 spikenard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense, myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices–– 15 You are a garden spring, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon. 16 Awake, north wind, and come, south wind! Blow[06315] on my garden, that its fragrance may spread abroad. Let my lover come into his garden and taste its choice fruits.

blow[06315]= exhale or breathe out, utter

2Corinthians 2:14-15But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him. 15 For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.
.
Revelation 19:10Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit[4151] of prophecy[4394].

*spirit[4151]= Holy Spirit, movement of air{wind, breath of nostrils or mouth}
*prophecy[4394]=a discourse{utterance} emanating from divine inspiration and declaring the purposes of God

The garden enclosed from the above scripture is a picture of the secret place within the heart of the “bride”. It’s amazing and beautiful that it’s also a picture of the bride being Pregnant with the Word or apples of gold!
.
Apples of gold are breathed by the Holy Spirit. They contain the fragrance of Christ, bringing life[02421] . These apples “breathe” – refresh, quicken, revive and restore from sickness, discouragement, faintness, and/or death. They bring life and joy. Isn’t it interesting that the “place of apples”, the place where these apples are “breathed” is in Judah, assigned to the tribe of Judah = praise/He is to be praised?!

Sweeter than Honey

September 16, 2012

Psalm 19:8-10 AMP … The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure and bright, enlightening the eyes. The [reverent] fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even than much fine gold; they are sweeter also than honey and drippings from the honeycomb.

Proverbs 16:24Pleasant-Kind-Gracious words are like a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

From NetBible Prov 16:24

*The metaphor of honey or the honeycomb is used elsewhere in scripture, notably Ps 19:10 [11]. Honey was used in Israel as a symbol of the delightful and healthy products of the land – “a land flowing with milk and honey” (Deut 6:3).

* Two predicates are added to qualify the metaphor: The pleasant words are “sweet” and “healing.” “Soul” includes in it the appetites, physical and spiritual; and so sweet to the “soul” would summarize all the ways pleasant words give pleasure. “Bones” is a metonymy of subject, the boney framework representing the whole person, body and soul. Pleasant words, like honey, will enliven and encourage the whole person. One might recall, in line with the imagery here, how Jonathan’s eyes brightened when he ate from the honeycomb (1 Sam 14:27).

Seek Jesus Christ as if looking for hidden treasure.

His words are sweeter than honey; More desired than much fine gold. -Col2:2-3; Ps19:10,119:103,119:72,119:127

They are sweet to the soul bringing joy to the heart, light to the eyes and healing to the bones.

If you have any word of exhortation or consolation or encouragement for the people, say it! -ACTS 13:15 AMP

Samson’s Riddle

January 16, 2012

Judges 14:14So he[Samson] said to them:

“Out of the eater came something to eat,
And out of the strong came something sweet.”
Now for three days they could not explain the riddle.

The answer:

Judges 14:8 … When he returned later to take her, he turned aside to look at the carcass of the lion; and behold, a swarm of bees and honey were in the body of the lion.

Judges 14:17-18Now she had wept on him the seven days while their feast lasted. And it happened on the seventh day that he told her, because she pressed him so much. Then she explained the riddle to the sons of her people. 18 So the men of the city said to him on the seventh day before the sun went down:

“What is sweeter than honey? And what is stronger than a lion?”

And he said to them:

“If you had not plowed with my heifer, you would not have solved my riddle!”

—>A honeycomb in the body of a dead lion.

The Lion of the tribe of Judah has triumphed!
Tho He was slain as a Lamb
He lives!
He speaks.
His words sweeter than honey!

How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! -Ps 119:103

Revelation 5:1-6 … And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” 3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.
4 So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. 5 But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”

6 And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
