Dare to Soar!

January 10, 2009

Isaiah 40:28-31
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Dare to Soar
Karen Holland … 10-9-06

Place your hope in the Lord
Wait on Him
Dare to soar
On the wings of praise
By the breath of His Spirit
Be lifted higher
Place your hope in the Lord
On the wings of praise dare to soar
Lion of Judah roar!

Dare to Soar
Karen Holland  … 10-10-06

To see with the eye of the Spirit
Place all your hope in the Lord
Trust Him completely
He sends forth His truth and light to guide
Up His Holy Hill into His sanctuary
With singing lips, in His name glory
Spread your wings in anticipation of the wind
Within and without, be made holy
Willingly let go of the ground
On the wings of praise
By the breath of His Spirit
Be lifted higher

Soar  …

Let your eyes be open to see from on high
View with the eye of the Spirit
On the wings of praise
Ascend His Holy hill
Hidden things revealed.

No eye has seen
No ear perceived
No mind the glorious riches of Christ has conceived
But to those who love the Lord
Who trust in Him completely
All things are opened
You never know how high you can fly
Or how far you can see
Unless you anticipate His wind and spread you wings
Place all your hope in the Lord
On the wings of praise dare to soar
Lion of Judah roar!

1 Corinthians 2:7-10
No, we speak of God’s secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began [to lift us into the glory of His presence]. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written:
   ”No eye has seen,
      no ear has heard,
     no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him”—
but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

Isaiah 42:9
See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.

Job 39:19
Do you give the horse his strength or clothe his neck with a flowing mane
(thunder)?

Isaiah 28:16,21
So this is what the Sovereign LORD says:
See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone,
     a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation;
the one who trusts will never be dismayed.
The LORD will rise up as he did at Mount Perazim,
he will rouse himself as in the Valley of Gibeon—
to do his work, his strange work, and perform his task, his alien task.

A ‘mighty thundering wave of water’
Baal Perazim – The Lord who breaks out. –2 Sam 5:20

What could remain standing after this mighty wave passes?

2 Timothy 2:19
Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The
Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name
of Christ depart from iniquity.”

Only the solid foundation of God
Only those with the seal of the Lord
Only those who have built on the Rock.

All that is not of the Lord will be washed away.

The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
       the God of glory thunders,
the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.
The voice of the LORD strikes
with flashes of lightning. –Ps 29:3, 7

Those who belong to the King; Do not fear!
Take heart! Be strong and courageous!
Wait patiently for the LORD. –Ps 27:14

The LORD sits enthroned over the flood;
the LORD is enthroned as King forever.
The LORD gives strength to His people;
the LORD blesses His people with peace. –Ps 29:10-11

Matthew 7:21-27
21″Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

The Wise and Foolish Builders

24″Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
