The Savior can solve every problem,
The tangles of life can undo;
There is nothing too hard for Jesus –Jere 32:17

More Costly{Precious} Than Gold

November 18, 2025

Psalm 119:13-16 AMP … With my lips I have told of
All the ordinances of Your mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
As much as in all riches.

  • NETI rejoice in the lifestyle prescribed by your rules as if they were riches of all kinds.

15 I will meditate on Your precepts
And regard Your ways.
16 I shall delight in Your statutes;
I will not forget Your word.
.
Delight in God’s Word and Way
God’s Word is a treasure, more precious than gold.
=> Nothing you desire compares with it!
.
Psalm 19:10They[His words] are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter{they bring greater delight} than honey, than honey from the comb.
.
Psalm 119:72The law from your mouth[His word] is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.
.

.
Proverbs 3:14-15For her profit[God’s wisdom] is better than the profit of silver and her gain better than fine gold.
.
Proverbs 8:10-11Receive my instruction rather than silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold. 11 For [God’s] wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her.

Word Study
.
From Biblehub Psalm 119:14:
as much as in all riches

  • The psalmist equates the joy found in God’s testimonies with the joy found in great wealth, suggesting that spiritual riches surpass material wealth.
  • This reflects the biblical principle that spiritual treasures are of greater worth than earthly ones, as echoed in Proverbs 8:10-11, where wisdom is valued above silver and gold. The New Testament reinforces this idea in Matthew 6:19-21, where Jesus teaches about storing up treasures in heaven.
  • True joy is found in following God’s ways. The psalmist’s delight in God’s testimonies serves as a model for finding joy in obedience to God’s commands
