The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the LORD, the majesty of our God. … A highway will be there, a roadway, and it will be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it, but it will be for him who walks that way, and fools will not wander on it. 9No lion will be there, nor will any vicious beast go up on it; These will not be found there but the redeemed will walk there, 10And the ransomed of the LORD will return and come with joyful shouting to Zion, with everlasting joy upon their heads. Sun of Righteousness Rise!

May 26, 2024

.
Malachi 4:2 AMP … But for you who fear My name [with awe-filled reverence] the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go forward and leap [joyfully] like calves [released] from the stall.
.
2Peter 1:19 AMP …So we have the prophetic word made more certain. You do well to pay [close] attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and light breaks through the gloom and the morning star arises in your hearts.

2Corinthians 4:6 AMP … For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give us the Light of the knowledge of the glory and majesty of God [clearly revealed] in the face of Christ.

2Peter 1:5-9 AMP … For this very reason, applying your diligence [to the divine promises, make every effort] in [exercising] your faith to, develop moral excellence, and in moral excellence, knowledge (insight, understanding), 6 and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, steadfastness, and in your steadfastness, godliness, 7 and in your godliness, brotherly affection, and in your brotherly affection, [develop Christian] love [that is, learn to unselfishly seek the best for others and to do things for their benefit]. 8 For as these qualities are yours and are increasing [in you as you grow toward spiritual maturity], they will keep you from being useless and unproductive{unfruitful} in regard to the true knowledge and greater understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For whoever lacks these qualities is blind—shortsighted [closing his spiritual eyes to the truth], having become oblivious to the fact that he was cleansed from his old sins.

From NetBible Mal 4:2
But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.

* Here the Hebrew word צְדָקָה (tsÿdaqah), usually translated “righteousness” (so KJV, NIV, NRSV, NLT; cf. NAB “justice”), has been rendered as “vindication” because it is the vindication of God’s people that is in view in the context.

* The expression the sun of vindication will rise is a metaphorical way of describing the day of the Lord as a time of restoration when God vindicates his people (see 2 Sam 23:4; Isa 30:26; 60:1, 3). Their vindication and restoration will be as obvious and undeniable as the bright light of the rising sun.

Talitha Koum – Arise

February 6, 2018

Ponder Jesus stretching out His hand to raise someone up by gently taking their hand. This is powerful!!!

Artist: Michael Page
Talitha Koum – Yeshua (Jesus) took the hand of the dead girl and said to her, “Talitha koum” [meaning “little one, arise”]. I have allowed the words He spoke to evoke the idea of his talith, or prayer shawl, having played a part in this miracle as it had moments before with the healing of the lady who grasped the tzitzit fringe on the corners of His talith – Matthew 5.

.

Mark 1:29-31 NET … Now as soon as they left the synagogue, they entered Simon and Andrew’s house, with James and John. 30 Simon’s mother-in-law was lying down, sick with a fever, so they spoke to Jesus at once about her. 31 He came and raised her up by gently taking her hand. Then the fever left her and she began to serve them.

Mark 5:39-42 NET … When he entered he said to them, “Why are you distressed and weeping? The child is not dead but asleep.” 40 And they began making fun of him. But he put them all outside and he took the child’s father and mother and his own companions and went into the room where the child was. 41 Then, gently taking the child by the hand, he said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up{arise}.” 42 The girl got up at once and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). They were completely astonished at this.

The phrase Talitha Koum is probably linked to the Tallit – the hem of the prayer shawl Jesus wore.

From http://www.rabdavis.org/the-tallit-in-the-nt/:
In Mark 5:41 we read: Then Yahshua “took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Tallita kumi.” The text says this Hebrew phrase is to be interpreted, “Damsel, I say to you arise{kumi/koum[2891]}.” It seems this interpreting phrase may have been added to the gospel at a later time in an attempt to interpret “Tallita kumi.” The reason for believing this is that Tallita is not Hebrew for damsel or young girl. A more accurate translation of Tallita kumi is “ Arise to my Tallit or Arise even as my Tallit. A dramatic picture of Yahshua lifting her up with one hand and raising his Tallit heavenward with the other which is a customary way of prayer.

.

Did you see it?!!!!!! As Jesus gently takes someone’s hand to “raise” them up, the fringe – the hem of His prayer shawl rises along with His hand and arm. A beautiful image of Healing rising in His wings!

Hem = Healing in His Wings
Malachi 4:2 … But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings;

From NetBible Mal 4:2

  • wings[03671] = wing, extremity, edge, winged, border, corner, shirt(of garment)
=>Ruth 2:12  … … May the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings [03671] you have come to take refuge, reward you fully
=>Ruth 3:9 … “Who are you?” he asked. “I am your servant Ruth,” she said. “Spread the corner of your garment [03671] over me, since you are a kinsman-redeemer.”

Luke 8:44 … She came up behind Jesus and touched the fringe of His robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped.

From NetBible Lk 8:44

  • * The edge of his cloak refers to the kraspedon, the blue tassel{ tzitzit } on the garment that symbolized a Jewish man’s obedience to the law (Num 15:37-41). The woman thus touched the very part of Jesus’ clothing that indicated his ritual purity. {The issue of blood would have made her ritually unclean}
  • fringe/hem[2899] = tassel: the Jews had such appendages attached to their mantles to remind them of the law

.
Mark 6:56Wherever He entered into villages, cities, or in the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged Him that they might just touch the hem[2899] of His garment. And as many as touched Him were made well.
.
Matthew 23:5But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels[2899] of their garments.

From NetBible Mt 23:5

  • * Phylacteries were small leather cases containing OT scripture verses, worn on the arm and forehead by Jews, especially when praying. The custom was derived from such OT passages as(Ex 13:9,16; Dt 6:8, 11:18)
  • * Tassels refer to the tassels that a male Israelite was obligated to wear on the four corners of his outer garment according to the Mosaic law (Num 15:38; Dt 22:12).

As surely as the sunrise
Jesus comes
With healing in His wings
Anointed with joy.

Anointed healing wings
Joy unspeakable and full of glory!1Pe 1:8

Lift Up Your Eyes and See

April 29, 2012

Isaiah 40:26Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these stars, the One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, not one of them is missing.

Lift up your eyes and see
The rising Son on the wings of dawn.

The Sun of Righteousness(Vindication) rises
With healing in His wings
In the greatness of His might
And the strength of His power!
-Mal 4:2;Isa 40:26

Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. -Ps 55:6

I will lift up my eyes and see
The Son coming over the hills
Shining on the wings of dawn.

I’ll fly into His awaiting arms
To my shelter, my roost
My home.
-Isa 60:8;Song 6:10

For I know that my Redeemer and Vindicator lives, and at last He [the Last One] will stand upon the earth. -Job 19:25 AMP

Until the day breaks and the shadows flee
I will lift my eyes up towards the hills and see
The rising Son on the wings of dawn
My help comes from the LORD
The Maker of heaven and earth!
-Ps 121;Mal 4:2;Ps 139:9-10;Song 4:6

Who is this that appears like the dawn, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, majestic as the stars in procession? -Song 6:10 NIV

Make haste, my Beloved and be like a roe on the mountains of spices! -Song 8:14

Word Study

From NetBible Isa 40:26

  • * “the one who brings out by number their host.” The stars are here likened to a huge army that the Lord leads out. Perhaps the next line pictures God calling roll. If so, the final line may be indicating that none of them dares “go AWOL.” (“AWOL” is a military acronym for “absent without leave.”)

The Train of His Robe

May 28, 2009

Isaiah 6:1      In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord{the sovereign master} sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.

The Lord sitting on the throne, high and lifted up
The Sovereign Master
The Sovereign King
Seated on the throne high above all.

How could the train of His robe literally fill the temple? This would take quite a bit of material …

  • When Isaiah wrote this book the length of the train on a person’s robe was a symbol of that person’s status. So to say that the train of the robe was so big that it filled the temple, establishes that the status of God as immense. This figure of speech signifies the majesty of our God. Also consider the strength needed to wear and carry such a robe. The train of the King’s robe filling the temple shows His greatness, majesty and strength!
  • Notice it’s the train of the robe that fills the temple. The train is the very edge of God’s garment, the humblest, least noble part of His clothing. This edge itself was so glorious that it fills the temple. How much more glorious is the Lord our King?
  • And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.”
    -Mt 9:20-21

From: Mt 9:20 Netbible    The edge of his cloak refers to the kraspedon, the blue tassel on the garment that symbolized a Jewish man’s obedience to the law (cf. Num 15:37-41). The woman thus touched the very part of Jesus’ clothing that indicated his ritual purity.

The train of the King’s robe filled the temple. The woman touched the train of His robe and the temple which was her body was filled with His glory making her whole.

Healing Wings Arising

January 7, 2009

Malachi 4:2 BBE
But to you who give worship to my name, the sun of righteousness will come up with new life in its wings; and you will go out, playing like young oxen full of food.

Come!
All you who fear My name
My unfailing love and mercy reaches to the heavens
My faithfulness reaches to the skies
Come find shelter in the shadow of My wings.

Come drink from the river of My delights
Taste of the fatness of My house
Be completely satisfied.

Yokes will be destroyed because of the fatness
… because of the anointing.

Sing a new song, a song of praise
Sing for joy in the shadow of My wings –Ps 63:7

Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord. –Ps 40:3

Come!
Drink in the shadow of My wings
Be filled to the full
See healing arise
Radiating from the wings of the Son
See yokes destroyed
Captives set free in fullness of joy
Skipping, frolicking, leaping like calves let out to pasture.

See the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings!

___________________________________________________________
Psalm 36:5-8 KJV
5Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

6Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.

7How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

8They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

Malachi 4:2-3 NKJV
But to you who fear My name
The Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With healing in His wings;
And you shall go out
And grow fat like stall-fed calves.
3 You shall trample the wicked,
For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet.

Isaiah 10:27 NASB
So it will be in that day, that his burden will be removed from your shoulders and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be broken{shattered, destroyed} because of fatness.

Jesus’ Healing Wings

(See http://flocksdiner.com/?p=104 by Jonathan Gainey at www.flocksdiner.com)

Jesus wore two articles of clothing, a halluq (ha-luke) and a talit (ta-leet). The talit is an undergarment. It is usually made of linen and covers the body all the way to the middle of the shin. The talit is a prayer shawl, also known as a prayer closet. The talit is worn over the halluq, and is pulled up over the head during prayer. On the corners of the talit are 4 tassels called tzitziyot (tzitzit – singular). The Jews continue to wear these tassels because of the command to wear them in Numbers 15:37-41 and Deut 22:12. God commanded this for His people as a reminder to obey His commands and not to follow after our own hearts. The English word that is translated “hem” is a translation of the Greek word “krespedon” which means “a tassel of twisted wool.”

The Jews of Jesus’ day believed that the tzitziyot (tassels) that were tied to the corners of the prayer shawl of the Messiah had healing powers. They believed this because of Malachi 4:2, which says, “the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings.” The “sun of righteousness” is a Hebrew figure-of-speech or idiom, which means ”the Messiah,” and the word “wings” is the Hebrew word kanaph (kanaphim – plural), which is the same word that is used to when referring to the edge of a prayer shawl.

It is customary to recite Psalm 36:7 when putting on the Talit. “How precious is Thy lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Thy wings.” The talit is considered to be symbolic of the covering shelter of God’s wings.

In Ruth 3:9 this Hebrew word kanaph is used as ruth asks to be covered, And he said, “Who are you?” So she answered, “I am Ruth, your maidservant. Take your maidservant under your wing {spread the corner of your garment over me}, for you are a close relative.”

The woman in Luke 8:43-48, understood the power and authority in the word of God when she reached out to take hold of the Tzitzit on Jesus’ talit. There is healing in His wings and by faith she took hold of it. In Matthew 14:36, we see that all who touched His Tzitzit were healed.

Matthew 14:36 NLT
The sick begged him to let them touch even the fringe of his robe, and all who touched it were healed.
Malachi 4:2 NLT
But for you who fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.

Malachi 4:2 NASB
But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.

Malachi 4:2 KJV
But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, how priceless, how precious is Your unfailing love, Your loving-kindness! Thank You that we find refuge beneath Your wings. Help us to press in and seek You as the woman with the issue of the blood – desperate to touch the hem of Your garment. For we know that there is healing in Your wings. Like Ruth, we ask to be covered, hidden beneath Your wings, made whole …
… kept as the apple of Your eye.

Psalm 17:8
Keep me as the apple of Your eye;
… Hide me in the shadow of Your wings.

In Mark 5:35-43 we read: Then Yahshua “took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Tallita kumi.” The text says this Hebrew phrase is to be interpreted, “Damsel, I say to you arise.” It seems this interpreting phrase may have been added to the gospel at a later time in an attempt to interpret “Tallita kumi.” The reason for believing this is that Tallita is not Hebrew for damsel or young girl. A more accurate translation of Tallita kumi is “ Arise to my Tallit or Arise even as my Tallit. A dramatic picture of Yahshua lifting her up with one hand and raising his Tallit heavenward with the other which is a customary way of prayer.

What a beautiful picture of being ‘lifted up’ and placed beneath His wings!

LOOK! More about the Tallit!
From: http://www.rabdavis.org/tallit_in_the_nt.htm

In Rev 19:11-16 in the King James we read and as I have said before it is why I believe Yahshua will be wearing a Tallit when he comes at His second coming:
11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war.
12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.
13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of G-d.
14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of G-d Almighty.
16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Himation (vesture), used two times in this passage, is the Greek word, which refers to the Hebrew Tallit. He is clothed with this vesture. Clothed here is the Greek word periballo, meaning cast or thrown about, like a shawl is worn which is how a Tallit is put on. A Tallit also rests upon the thighs and there is writing upon it.

Today it is traditional for Tallit to have stripes on each end. The stripes are usually blue and this is associated with the blue strand of the Tzitzit. Black is for mourning for the temple. The number and meaning of the stripes may vary but to believers the stripes symbolize that we are healed by the Messiah’s stripes.

One last application we see in the Messianic Scriptures (New Testament) is the spirit of G-d descending on Yahshua as a Dove. Doves have wings or kanfort as does a TALLIT. The dove descended upon him as a Tallit on His shoulders. This began Yahshua’s ministry.

—> Did you see it?!!! This seems to combine the images of the waters breaking out — the white horses coming in a mighty wave with the voice of many waters — with ARISING — being lifted up as the sun of righteousness rises with healing in His wings!

How awesome to think the King of kings returns wearing the Talllit dipped in blood — and the symbol of the dove descending as a Tallit!

Revelation 21:5-7
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

6He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.”Some scholars believe that word comes from the word “Talith” and that the literal translation of this is, “Little girl who is now in my tallit, arise!” and the power of YHVH caused her to rise.
